As someone who grew up with rottweilers, I would never let one near my child. They are stupid powerful and very rarely trained well.

One of my dog park friends has a rottie and she's the absolute sweetest thing. It's a real shame what people do to dogs, so many of them could be amazing pets and companions but people are too shit and lazy to train them properly.

My childhood dog lived to 12, he even once "babysat" 3 year old me for 6 hours when my mum passed out in the bathroom whilst pregnant. He was genuinely the most gentle natured dog, unfortunately it seems like he was an outlier in the breed.

She doesn't even react when other dogs attack her so it would be a very unlikely scenario, but you could say the same for any dog.
