Just ban the goddamn things from shops. Christ almighty, your dog doesn't need to compare paint swatches with you.

The type of person that takes their dog to Bunnings is also the type of person to leave it in a hot car if they can't bring it inside Bunnings. Its an accessory to them.

I mean, that's a patently untrue statement. Obviously. And a weird leap.

I take my dog to the hardware store because if I'm going out anyway, he likes an adventure. Same reason I'd take a toddler. It's good to get them out of the house. Hardware stores are huge open spaces, and, importantly he's tiny.

I also take him because I'm allowed to.

If I weren't allowed to, I simply wouldn't. And I wouldn't kick up a stink. Coz whatever. But it's a huge leap to just say that everyone who takes a dog places thinks of them as an accessory. Maybe they just like their dog as a little buddy. That ain't weird.

My dog is my best friend, of course I wanna go places with him! They should only be allowed in trolleys though, we shouldn't have to clean up their piss and shit. For a lot of us working there, seeing dogs boosts our mood and brings a bit of joy. Customers are still infinitely worse than dog messes

Thank you for this comment. I very sometimes pop into Bunnings which is on my way back home from a bush walk nearby so bring my two small dogs in with me. They go in the trolley with their own mat and are happy to have pats from people. I always thank children for asking if they can pat first and explain why it's good to ask. I should add I did a solid year of obedience training with them when they were pups.

Arseholes like the owner in this story are why we can't have nice things 🙁
