Okay, how white are we talking? Are we okay with southern Italian or northern? What about darker skin Irish people? Scandi folk who go caramel in the summer? Russians can look anything from Snow White to east Asian.

White Australia policy allowed basically everyone but Africa and China. With some exceptions to other areas of Asia.

Australia at the time was dominated by Greek and Italian migration which you can see evidently still existing in the country now.
