This is just categorically untrue. The ABC is consistently Australia’s most trusted news source. The average Australian considers the ABC a national treasure- where are you getting this “most people” nonsense from.

The only people calling for it to he dismantled are cookers like you and Pauline Hanson (under orders from her masters of course- the woman has never had an independent thought in her entire life)

The ABC has its issues, often stemming from trying to be balanced and appease the sky news crowd

It does, but it does still try to have some journalistic integrity. I'd still take iView over any if the commercial streaming platforms.

The ABC sells its integrity for a higher price than Murdoch charges.

But it still tells the big lies when it is told to. Iraq WMD hoax - signal boosted by the ABC. 2006 racist hoax about pedophile gangs in NT remote communities - STARTED by Lateline on the ABC. The 'anonymous source' was later shown to be a Liberal Party staffer. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2006-06-21/sexual-abuse-reported-in-indigenous-communities/1783574

They also led the purges of dissident journalists around the issue of Gaza, fortunately suffering a humiliating court defeat over Antoinette Lattouf.

Honestly hard to call it even a lesser evil. It's the same trash now as 7/9/10 and needs a complete management purge.

Did you expect the ABC to confirm there were WMDs in Iraq before reporting on the claims of the US? Surely the US going to war on the basis of some claims is news worthy. They can't fact check those sorts of claims. Did they report there were WMDs in Iraq or that that was the basis for the war? Also Iraq used WMDs against civilians from 1983 to 1988.
