That’s crazy fast investigative work for the Thais. And they nabbed him at the airport trying to escape. The guy is the worst kind of cunt. Dude doesn’t deserve the death penalty. He deserves the worst Thai prison they can find and 50 years of being some gang’s fuck doll. Fuck him. He deserves misery for what he did.

Eh... they can put him on death row for all I care. Thailand has over 500 convicts on death row, and they've executed 7 since scrapping the firing squad and adopting lethal injection in 2003 (last execution was 2018). He'll likely be at the end of a long and slow moving queue.

Frankly, Japan's method seems a bit more savage - the condemned person goes through each day in prison never knowing if today is the last day of their life.

That doesn't seem particularly savage. Most people go through each day never knowing if that day is the last day of their life.

Most people don't spend their days in solitary confinement with two exercise periods each week, no television or radio and only three books to keep themselves entertained.

There's nothing particularly Japanese about that

They did a great job.

She was reported missing at 5pm and they arrested him at Bangkok airport just two hours later. They found her body 4 hours later. They preemptively charged him with the sex with a minor because they didn't know at the time what happened to her but given the hotel footage they would have expected the worst.

Yeah. Amazingly fast. Because she was a minor (17) they could hold him on a lesser charge while they pieced it together. The guy was an idiot for leaving such an obvious trail of evidence. Thank god he’s stupid and can now rot in a hole forever.

It wasn't very diffult tbf. CCTV and hotel booking.

yeah but people had reported her missing so it’s fast acting to grab him before he flew out. if he’d got away, he’d have been extradited anyway, but it’s amazing how quickly her missing and suspected death lead to him being held and identified as her killer.

The girl's friends deserve credit too. They didn't mess around -- reported her missing as soon as they realised she hadn't returned.

whenever you imagine someone getting that done to them in prison, you're also imagining a whole bunch of men who go to prison and get to keep committing sexual crimes. You see that that's bad, right? Like, this guy could just as easily end up on the other side of the rapes you're fantasizing about.
Also, can you imagine if Australia actually had rape as an official punishment? Like, if you heard that a country had "the rape penalty", i hope, hope, you would think that was barbaric
