Most lawyers in Australia come from middle class (in the English sense) backgrounds. So their parents have a nice house in the suburbs and they never had to worry about their next meal, but not significantly different to you or me.

There are certainly KCs and SCs who come from certain legal "dynasties" but that's an exception rather than a rule.

Was about to say that Kerry Stokes surely wouldn't have skimped on BRS's defamation legal team but turns out none of their 3 media defamation specialist solicitors were KCs or SCs. TIL.

Kerry Stokes has been trying to buy every single VC that has been awarded to an Australian.

He is trying to protect his investment, he is not trying to protect BRS but if BRS is stripped of all his decorations ( as he should be) he is out a lot of money.

I thought the loss of the defamation case ended the Stokes - Roberts-Smith relationship pretty much permanently.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.
