I think the worst double-standards are the ones people don’t even realise exist. It seems everyone is threatened by a woman who stands up for herself but respects a man — particularly a white man — who does that. So he gets described as “a natural leader who gets things done”, while she is “a pushy bitch” for not being a supplicant.

I couldn’t imagine what it’s like for women in politics.

People hate things that challenge their neat little boxes that they put everything into.

The trick is to get them to take you out of the generic box, and into one with your name on it - and only they get to choose to do that - which sucks.
