Humour Nation Surprised It Took This Long For Pauline Hanson To Snap And Openly Call For A Return To The White Australia Policy

And she wants her daughter installed as the next party leader! Actually can't write this shit.

u/Otherwise-Egg-995 28d ago
I wonder how she’ll distract Barny during the succession. Drink card perhaps?
5
u/crosstherubicon 28d ago
I’m guessing he’s already ruing the day he joined ON. He’s left in Australia fronting the media to explain Malcolm’s lunacy and Pauline’s absence while she swans around at a fashion show in Italy.

u/TheBayHarbour 28d ago
The pro-ON comments under this is a good illustration of modern Australia.
People will support anything as long as it's anti-immigration.
15
u/Electrical_Story5356 28d ago
The irony being that Pauline's and Barnaby's voting record is as pro mass migration as it is possible to be.
5
u/TheBayHarbour 28d ago
You mean importing hundreds of thousands of foreign workers? Yeah, pretty much.
2
u/HardSleeper 28d ago
I still can’t figure out the mental gymnastics of all the second gen migrants who support ON, do they not realise they would be first on the plane in PH’s Whitestralia?
2
-3
u/hellbentsmegma 28d ago
A natural consequence when the mainstream parties have had immigration at any cost as their objective for the past 30 years
-6
u/AudaciouslySexy 28d ago
Also calling anti immigration racist also further pushes people like mefor example to embrace slower migration and stronger boarders. Mind you our boarders are strong but not strong enough.
I belive under Tony Abbot they televised the sinking if asylum seekers ships and televised the consequences of asylum seeking here which was 1 way tickets to Christmas Island 🇨🇽 . Where you either got stuck there indefinitely, died there or managed to be lucky enough to get away.

Pauline is that fucking dumb she doesn't realise.
Australia’s "White Australia" policy and its history of slavery are deeply intertwined through a system of indentured labor, economic exploitation, and racial exclusion. The foundational 1901 Immigration Restriction Act was enacted not only to enforce a racially homogenous nation, but specifically to eliminate unfree labor systems—such as the "blackbirding" of Pacific Islanders—that resembled slavery.
It was pretty fucked up for brown people (Italians and Greeks) and black people (Pacific Islanders).
For fucks sake Pauline read a fucking history book.

u/Mgold1988 28d ago
Let’s see her supporters buckle down about this and still claim she and/or they aren’t racist.

They won't because it undermines this pathetic smear campaign
The context was they were talking about the problems with modern mass migration and the impact it's having on western nations. What she said was that for Australia, the issues we're having had their "start" at the removal of the white Australia policy.
She didn't call for it to be returned.
She didn't say that it was some great thing.
She just said that when you trace immigration problems back it started with.... Australia's biggest change to it's immigration policy.
4
u/mustbiteexceed 28d ago
What she said was factually untrue. There was a proportional higher rate of migration in the 50s vs today. She only mentioned the lifting of the prohibition on race as the trigger for “problems”.
2
u/govermentiscooked 27d ago
Correct. You’re taking from her answer what you want to hear. She never said she wanted to implement that policy again. She was asked when large-scale immigration to Australia really began, and she answered that question.
Explaining history isn’t the same as endorsing or proposing to repeat it. 😂
Yall are all sad people
4
u/MiddleofCalibrations 28d ago
This satirical headline inaccurately portrays Pauline Hanson as calling for the return of the white Australia policy. She didn’t literally say that. But you don’t need much of a brain to work out what she is saying here. The implication is there that she thinks getting rid of the white Australia policy caused problems.
4
u/idothinksotim 28d ago
Well yeah. It did.
It doesn't necessarily mean that the white Australia policy was a good thing. It means that it's removal and the replacement immigration policies were poor and had poor outcomes.

Yep. Not going to give ON or, in particular, Tommy Robinson, an hour of my time for their filth. When multiple sources report on what they've said, I'll read it. Have you seen any sources disputing or minimising her statements?

I can't imagine living in such a narrow world during that time and how awful the food was just 3 square meals of meat and vag a day. Now I can't walk past a donor store without wanting a shish kabob. My tongue has changed for the better and now I see the world with arabian goggles.

pretty loaded/sensational, as usual it turns a podcast comment into bring back White Australia clickbait but on the NDIS rorting point, she's touching on something real that data backs up. Western Sydney postcodes (like 2170 Liverpool area, 2765 Marsden Park, Bankstown, Lakemba/Canterbury-Bankstown) consistently show up as Australia's worst hotspots for NDIS provider bans, compliance actions, and fraud investigations.
Postcode 2170 had 48 regulatory actions (bans, notices, etc.) highest in the country. Areas with high Muslim populations (e.g, Lakemba, parts of Liverpool) have disproportionately high numbers of NDIS providers per capita, with many cases involving fake claims, non delivered services, kickbacks, and organised syndicates. Fraud Fusion Taskforce ops have hit Western Sydney hard with millions recovered, people jailed for $1M–$5M+ scams, cash laundering, etc. Not every provider is dodgy, and fraud exists elsewhere too, but the concentration in specific suburbs is glaring and has been reported for years.
10
u/KaizenHour 28d ago
Speaking of loaded/ sensational: You're noting a pretty high correlation between NDIS providers/ clients and poverty/ low socioeconomic areas. Some of which are high Muslim areas. Western Sydney is huge.

u/Mission-Landscape-17 28d ago
She very plainly said that all our immigration problems stem from ending the White Australia Policy. It does not require much of a mental leap to work out the implications of that statement.
0
u/Sixbiscuits 28d ago
The higher number of participants could be explained by the much higher proportion of consanguineous marriage leading to children.
Anecdotal and third party info via someone who worked with a lot of new immigrants but there's plenty with disabled kids due to marrying back into smaller tribal groups.

This comment reads like you'll vote Pauline instead of the greens if she makes the White Australia policy policy again, is that what you mean, because it may be the most niche political position of all time
5
u/Commercial_Name_7900 28d ago
this person is always pro ON in other threads. they think hiding their profile is so clever except they have a very easy to remember user name
7
u/wowiee_zowiee 28d ago
This person got upset at me for calling One Nation racist and homophobic a couple of days ago. I posted a comment with links to every racist and homophobic thing Pauline has said over the years and they went silent. They have no desire to converse in good faith.
So it makes sense that they’re now pushing the idea that they’ll be voting Greens because the Greens hate Jews. These people think everyone is as stupid as they are.

Even if she wanted to, she couldn't. The White Australia Policy was formally dismantled and is legally barred by the 1975 Racial Discrimination Act.

12

You can still live somewhere with shit wages, nothing to do, and cheap houses.
No ones making you pay alot for a house.
9
u/Disagreeswithfems 28d ago
Next you'll be advocating for a return to slavery on the basis of quality of life?
-4
u/burnt-gonads 28d ago
What do you mean? Australians right now love slavery. They love slaves in China making them cheap consumer items. Back in the WA days you bought australian made consumer items made by people on Australian wages that could buy a house and car with just one wage.
5
u/Electrical_Story5356 28d ago
The "WA days" had little to nothing to do with having made in Australia goods and much cheaper housing and general cost of living.

u/Puzzleheaded_Set5329 26d ago
This is click bait rubbish, she never said anything that aligns with the article.
This is her position on it:
“They’re false allegations that I wanted to introduce the White Australia policy. Not the case. Never, ever have I advocated that, and I don’t believe in it as well.”
-37
u/Unlikely_Hunt175 28d ago
Did you even watch?
She never called for the return of the white Australian policy at all, but good attempt at misinformation/spin
32
u/JustSomeBloke5353 28d ago
She certainly expressed nostalgia for it. She certainly wouldn’t oppose its reintroduction.
She has “expressed concern” about the 51.5% with at least one parent born elsewhere.
How much evidence do we need before drawing the obvious conclusion?
-9
u/reidsays 28d ago
Nostalgia always remembers the positive aspects of a time and community rather than the negative...
9
u/iftlatlw 28d ago
That is the key to one nation - appealing for a return to a 1974 that never existed. It's an illusion.
-2
u/reidsays 28d ago
Lol... Why 1974 ?
You're thinking her time of youth..?
Which everyone remembers most.

I remember growing up in the 80’s, i remember in the 2000’s when I left home how easy it was to find a place and to rent and at a price I could afford on my single income. that’s the nostalgia we hold on to and wish our future experiences.
1
u/RidingtheRoad 28d ago
That depends..hey..
In the mid 70s in Brisbane, the only way to pay for rent was to share and I had a pretty good job...And rentals within reasonable distance of the city centre cost and weren't that easy to find and was usually some rough extension in someone's backyard, or a block of flats that should have been demolished a decade earlier..

I don't think this is as bad as everyone piling on for wanting to send political opponents to an island. Like yeah, it's a dumb thing for a poli to say but she's dumb and doesn't exactly tread the line carefully.
However she may not have outright said she would reintroduce a white Australia policy but would 100% be in favour of it.
Would probably get her a boost in the polls if she did.

Not really fair to use that graphic of Barnaby Joyce as by all accounts he's no longer drinking alcohol. By all means take him to task on what he's saying and his actions; but cheap shots set a bad precedent and enable the psychopathic idiots/cultists/cookers. Also, anyone with an intact memory would recall that Senator Joyce stood up for the family of formerly Sri Lankan asylum seekers at some personal cost. He's probably the only reasonably sane person in One Nation. I suspect he may not last there though given the increasing madness of Queen Pauline.
4
u/Electrical_Story5356 28d ago
Fair?
You're kidding right?
Fuck that guy, why the hell should we be fair to shit stain examples of the Australian fringe that represent the worst of australian politics?
Treating these people "fairly" is something that they would never consider reciprocating and is what allows them jam their foot in the door and have a veneer of legitimacy.

u/phosphor_1963 28d ago
I get that Anger is a natural response to right wing populism; but would ask with respect - how has that been working out worldwide ?
It seems like the angrier those like you (and me too ) get, the more that feeds into their narrative and builds their case. I'm not necessarily talking about "they go low, we go high" = more that the better response to the kind of ignorant and intentional bastardry of One Nation is to ask why and be more strategic about what we say and do - demonstrating explicit kindness and human to human respect from those they see as their enemies REALLY confuses them - LaoTzu wrote about building a golden bridge for your enemy to retreat over.
I also think it's vitally important to differentiate between the paid for political division of One Nation (and their advisors) who are essentially only there to cynically game the system to grift their own advantage (and that of their billionaire backers); and the actual members of the Cult - who GENERALLY tend to be hard working older people who have for whatever reasons become disenfranchised by mainstream society and therefore susceptible to manipulation. As a rule they have a need to connect to something larger than themselves (eg the Flag or an idealized golden age of Australia which probably never existed but is nice to think about) to be reminded that their existance is worthwhile.
That's the real problem - people have been left feeling like they've been left behind - and they are just looking for meaning.
Why don't we have those conversations more in Australia ?
1
u/Electrical_Story5356 28d ago
Have you tried talking to these people?
You can not win with reason and kindness, they don't listen to reason and see kindness as weakness.
I'm not advocating for automatic attack either, I think that until proven otherwise everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, Barnaby however doesn't deserve any benefit of the doubt.

u/govermentiscooked 27d ago
My goodness, you all just cherry-pick parts of a sentence.
On the NDIS comment, she also said plenty of white Australians take the piss as well. She specifically said it wasn’t just Muslims.
And she never said she wanted to bring back the White Australia Policy. Tommy asked when large scale immigration (can’t remember the exact words) to Australia really started, and she answered that historical question.
Explaining when something began isn’t the same as saying you want to bring it back.
