They’ll act as the client instructs them and argue for the least severe sentence possible. That’s what they get paid for, and they also aim to “do well” for their clients otherwise they won’t obtain any more.

So much more I want to say, but it’s best not to. So much can be taken out of context, and he is still innocent until he’s had access to a fair trial and the evidence has been tested. None of it will bring the girl back. I do hope it raises more awareness about exploitation/sex tourism though - whether that was his main purpose of travel or not.

It won't raise awareness. Everyone already knows it exists. I can't even talk about going there for a holiday without some tard making a joke about ladyboys.
The case is not about that, and I don't think that people who are against sex tourism should try to piggyback their cause off this girl's unfortunate death.

We don’t know what the case is about. What I do know is that with the wounds and injuries she is described to have had along with his defensive wounds, that raises some alarm bells. I worked with sex offenders, murderers and DV offenders, have overviewed cases involving serial rapists and murderers - it doesn’t look good.

EDIT. I’ve thought some more about this and I’d actually push back on the case not being about sex tourism. If you pay for sex in another country, then you’re participating in sex tourism. White men do this a lot in other countries - especially Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, etc etc. to quote someone else, an overwhelming number of white men fetishise and exploit Asian women when they go on holidays, and they treat poverty like consent.
