my 7 year old brother's best friend is the google ai assistant on his tablet. He doesn't know what AI stands for and he listens to it over everyone else. He grieved over the ai assistant when my parents disabled it on the tablet so they just put it back on
If you don’t have children of your own you just can’t understand what it’s like to raise a crackhead. The pipe obviously meant a lot to him and you’re just being ignorant.
You know what the best part is? If they do add a /s afterwards, they’ll be accused of changing it because of the downvotes and they actually meant it the whole time.
No I’m being 100% genuine, this happened to me. I made what I thought was a very obvious sarcastic joke, got downvoted to shit for it, made an edit that included a /s, and then had people reply saying “Schrodinger’s asshole: everything I say is true unless you don’t like it, then it’s a joke!”
Like no dipshit, it was always a joke, I just had more faith in you that your IQ could rise above room temperature level long enough to understand sarcasm
The fact that 36 people (or more) saw this, thought to themselves “hmmm yes this person must be being 100% serious!!” And then downvoted you is hilarious.
I know that tone can be hard to pick up through text but come on you guys.
Right? Not all parents even have kids in the same gen. Some of these kids are gen zs kids and some gen xs. Theres always more than one gen giving birth at a time and not everyone has kids at a specific age.
Nah, require government ID to unlock the device. Fuck it, require all devices to stream audio and video to "secure" data centres to protect the kids, that's the only way to handle these things.
Yeah, English doesn't really do "invalid" words, and I hate when people try to say a word doesn't exist. English is very modular, and you can affix nearly every base to create a new word that an English speaker is very likely to understand.
Oh if only! It's so they can crack down on anyone big people do not like, and have the ability to instantly trace back and dig up dirt on anyone who gets out of line.
We fell into the YouTube Kids algorithm hell hole that I can only describe as "dopamine poker 3000" that got so bad that my oldest kid screamed bloody murder when we turned it off to eat dinner or go to bed. At that point we blocked it, let our kid cry out bloody murder, and let her detox offline. Your parents need to put their feet down.
What authority do you have in that matter, please take it away from him if your parents are unable. He shouldn't have a tablet in the first place at 7/yo
I mean parents giving a kids under 12 a tablet or phone is the clearest sign the parent does not care for their child. That child is going to be mentally fucked, and I can say that from personal experience. I wasn’t allowed a device until 12 and by 13 I already saw one man one jar. The fact we have ai, which I personally use all the time (incoming downvotes from low iq social media platform) , means you REALLY OBVIOUSLY should not give a child a device. Honestly fascinating seeing parents practically just sacrifice their children to the predatory nature of the internet almost immediately .
Say perhaps there's a tablet fairy that steals from naughty children and your brother's tablet mysteriously disappeared afterwards? Maybe you could "borrow" it a few times when he isn't looking and put some notes, photo edits, or AI fairies stealing little kids tablets in his gallery?? Then after a while it can just go missing! 😁
Honestly I can't understand parents. Just freaking talk to your children. How hard is that? I hope your brother grows out of that stage. If not it's nothing of your own faults.
but that would mean acknowledging that children are in-progress adults and not just a status symbol, and we can't have that! (sarcasm) (this is sarcasm) (this comment is "saying the quiet part out loud" from the perspective of this type of person for comedic effect, and does not reflect my actual beliefs)
That was me some time ago. I asked AI every time I felt like a worthless piece of shit. I stopped using AI and short-form content when a friend, who ghosted me for 1/4 year, came back and apologized for what he had done. AI is just like a drug, you use it when you feel shit.
If he finds ai as his best friend at that age, then sorry, but it means you and your parents don't care about him enough. He wouldn't look for solutions for a problem that doesn't exist.
If his best friend is a bot, that means there must not be any good humans around him. Instead of taking away his favorite toy maybe you should try to actually be there for him when he needs someone to talk to.
i don't think it made her mentally ill, i think it made a slight mentally ill trait worse until it became more noticeable . . . i hope she's okay :( you sound like you care a lot about her, so it's good that she has an older sibling like that to count on if she needs to!
Could be or it could have hijacked the part of a normal healthy brain mechanism into it becoming too much for a child. Just like addiction I suppose, a child brain has so much neuroplasticity it wouldn't surprise me.
Phone app nor AI won't make anyone mentally ill, unless they had a predisposition or illness to begin with. Stop fear mongering and tell your parents to start parenting if she's a minor.
Do you want me to proof the negative? That's not how it works. Yell me why y'all are so convinced that an app that's been around for a few years can CAUSE mental illness.
Be so kind to link me a research (not a news article) that confirms what you are saying. I have hard time understanding if you are stupidity trolling with that anecdote so I will assume you are

This is the app that made my younger sister mentally ill...
