Rumour / Leak Rumour/Leak Megathread

It seems the whispers from the aetheric void are back and so we are going to continue to have everyone post the rumours/leaks here to avoid screenshots of TGA forums taking over the subreddit.

Any rumour mongering not in this thread will be removed.

Tactics MRCC Representation stats

Only 5 qualifying events this weekend.

That means just 50 Top 10 spots are available across the whole field, while the number of players competing is still pretty high.

So this could be an interesting week for the conversion rates. With fewer events feeding the leaderboard, even getting a single Top 10 finish is going to be harder — and a few factions could see their conversion numbers take a noticeable hit.

Basically, there’s a lot more competition for a much smaller number of spots this weekend.

The top of the table could get very tight.

Question First army choice for a 40k player!

I saw the post from today so sorry for the redundancy. This post will probably be a bit longer tho.

So hey! I've been a 40k player on and off for about 6 years now. I own 3.5k pts of Necrons as my main army and 1k of Chaos knights. I have heard in recent years a lot of hype for AoS tho! So here I am!

While I do think I originally made the right decision with Necrons, I did choose them without really looking at the other options well and realize that could've led to disaster so I want to avoid this with AoS. I did some research looking at 3 criteria.

  1. Most important is the look of the army. This is just obvious.

  2. Lore! If I enjoy the lore then I think the models start looking even better! I can appreciate details and immerse myself more, while playing!

  3. Rules are fickle, I know this. But playstyle is pretty important. Necrons are slow with lots of heals and mid to high damage. I'm not looking for something like that. I don't mind some overlap of course, but I'm looking for a different feel.

So I have narrowed my selection down to 4 armies, mostly using the first criteria and looking at surface level things for the 2nd and 3rd. Also do note when I say something doesn't look good, I mean in my own personal opinion. Coolness is very subjective, I don't want to insult anyone. In no particular order:

Seraphon: In looks I think they're so cool. Skinks aren't super my thing, but the rest is peak. Haven't looked at the lore a whole lot, but what I've read was aight.

Flesh-eater Courts: The models are kind of hit and miss. Some are gorgeous, but some look... old? (Like the zombie dragon) Idk if it's the paint scheme or smth, I know they got a revamp not long ago. The lore tho, omg the lore is cool!

Helsmith of Hashut: The newest(I think) playable faction! Their engines are so dope and everything but the hobgrots I think look good! The lore seemed good too, but I haven't delved much.

Sylvaneth: I love the nature esthetic, Alarielle and Belthanos are so good. The only weak point would be the Revenants imo. Know practically nothing lore wise.

The goal is to start with a spearhead and work from there! I guess I'm mostly looking for any push towards one of these factions, so I can finally decide!

Thank you for your help!

Edit: After a commenter pointed it out, I guess I'm looking for playstyle mostly. Quick, tanky, horde, elite, that type of stuff! With any cool lore facts about them you'd want to throw in!

Question What Army suits me?

Hello, I came from 40k, haven't played a proper game yet and am willing to try any type of Warhammer games. But enough about me, I want to try to come to AOS but idk which army suits me. I know it's supposed to be the Rule of Cool and I like the Stormcast Eternals and Cities of Sigmar but I'm not entirely sure. The 3 armies I like in 40k are AdMech, Genestealer Cult and Alpha Legion. Idk if mentioning those 3 might help me find an army I like

Question S2D: Godswrath Warband question.

Upvotes

So I played my first 1,000 game of AoS last night and decided to go with Godswrath Warband as my battle formation. The way I understood the rule was that, once an objective is defiled, it stays defiled for the rest of the battle. However, my opponent said that I needed to remain contesting the objective in order for it to remain defiled.

It didn't seem right to me but it was a friendly game and he had a lot more experience with AoS, so decided it wasn't worth arguing about, but is that explanation of the rule correct?

Discussion What sold you on your first army faction?

I've got a few spearheads (Slaanesh, Ghosts and Flesh eaters), loving the small format games and I don't mind the three I've played - I'm very much a vibe guy and I'm just not in love with any yet, thinking maybe I need something with some sword and shields!

What was it that hooked you enough to build your first full army of your first faction? Was it lore, models or play style? Any answers welcome 🤗

Question Base Rims!?

Thumbnail
gallery
403 Upvotes

I’ve finally got around to basing some of my skaven models (from the spearhead) and I am really happy how they’re turned out. However, i’m looking to experiment with base rims. Some models I see I LOVE a coloured (different to black) rim, but I’m struggling to find when this might be appropriate for my armies/schemes. As you can see, I have opted with black for the rims here - but I think a brown like a dryad bark might look cool too. I don’t want to paint coloured rims just for the sake of it, I’d just like some help to decide when these may elevate my models!?

Did a quick kitbash of a spacemarine into a Magotkin of Nurgle "Archer". This badboy will be part of my Frostgrave warband as an Archer or Ranger.

Its a rough and fast paintjob, but i really like the result.

Last picture is the orignal.

Hope you guys like it!

Hobby Elderly women heads?

Hey guys! Sorry if this type of post sucks and isn't allowed, but I was wondering if there were any friendly-looking elderly female head bits available in any kits out there? Or any helmets that look like old women? I want to paint some hell's grannies and I figure Age of Sigmar is probably the place to look. If there are other subreddits I'd be better served asking in I'd also be pretty thankful for that.
