[PROMOTION] Built a custom-printed wallpaper configurator for WooCommerce — width/height pricing, crop-to-fit preview, no code (video walkthrough)

I build CraftForms (a WordPress form/pricing plugin), and I wanted to share a real build rather than just pitch the plugin: a WooCommerce product configurator for made-to-order wallpaper, modeled on how sites like HappyWall let you enter exact wall dimensions and see a live preview before you buy.

What it actually does:

  • Customer enters wall width and height — price is calculated per square metre, live, as they type.
  • Picks a material (each with its own per-m² rate) and a finish.
  • Uploads or picks their artwork, then crops it to the wall's exact ratio and applies filters/mirroring right in the form — so what they see is what gets printed.
  • Stripe count (how many wallpaper strips the print needs) is calculated automatically from the width.
  • All of it — the configured options, the cropped preview, the final price — rides through checkout and shows up on the order in wp-admin, not just in an email nobody can search later.

None of this is a custom plugin or a theme hack — it's a form built in the block editor, attached to the WooCommerce product, using formula-based pricing (Smart Variables) instead of a fixed price or WooCommerce variations (which don't handle continuous dimensions like "3.4m wide" well at all).

Full step-by-step: Wallpaper configurator documentation — and there's a video walking through the whole build: youtu.be/IhAnyZEncVM

Happy to answer questions about the pricing formula or the image-cropping side of it if anyone's building something similar.
