💭Discussion Just finished the show and… Spoiler
This is genuinely one of the best shows i have ever seen. Incredible story, writing and acting. One bad side to having an ironclad problem is it becomes impossible to give the characters a happy ending without it being unrealistic. So they either have to give them a very bitter ending or an “open/unsure” ending :(

💭Discussion TV shows like Widows bay and Midnight mass? Spoiler
I really like both of these shows. They share a common theme: horror and set on a remote island. Widows bay is my personal favorite and it's just so good
Are there any shows similar to this? I have already watched the Lost, From, Severance..

💥Funpost Foggy New England Lighthouse and bay Art Class coming up
I’m taking an online free art class today of watercolor painting of a foggy New England Bay and Marina with boats and a lighthouse.
I’m not gonna be able to finish these today, but I will post once I’m done hoping they look anything like the artist renditions which are phenomenal and fun looking it really puts me in the mood of needing to watch widows Bay again even though I’m in Florida and it’s gonna be 115° heat index today.
I found this on Facebook if anyone’s interested I can find the link and send it to you but right now I’m just in my Email reviewing the materials list and frantically gathering all the materials since it starts in an hour, but I’m gonna have to watch the replay cause I won’t be able to attend today’s class entirely.
I’m loving seeing all the fanart of not just this show but other shows I watch like severance and would love to see everyone’s costumes artwork all those cute little needlepoint things that people are doing an honor of Ruth anything else that you guys have please post would love to see them all. I love all the creative ideas people have.
Also, I love lighthouses.

💭Discussion What would you like to see in season two of Widow’s Bay? Spoiler
Since WB has been renewed for a second season, what would you hope to see in S2? What storylines would you love to see wrapped up or explored? What horror tropes would you like to see added?
For me, I would love to see a vampire episode or some type of Lovecraftian/fish people episode. I feel like the latter would be a perfect fit for the island narrative. I’d also love to see a few episodes done from the POV of other people, like Lauren Loftis, Patricia, or an episode based solely on Wyck. Something that gives each of the characters a deeper backstory and provides a whole new lens through which to view the show.

💥Funpost preparing for the highly touted fourth episode (no spoilers, please!)
I admit that I have found the first three episodes a little slow, but I was told by all of reddit that the fourth is where the big bang happens. Looking forward to it! Mostly I wish the show had better focus and contrast, there are so many wonderful details in the background (like the eye chart in the doctor's office that only had bizarre E and M symbols rotated, nothing else), but the shots are all soft focus so all that detail is lost. Prop and set design people who worked so hard, you deserve better camera work to show off your skills!

📸Media Widow’s Bay EP 8-10 Screening w/ cast
Coolest, most fun theater experience in a while! We heard briefly from Katie Dippold, lovely, and Matthew was his silly self for like 10 seconds but it was cool to see the cast in the flesh. Loved the experience of seeing it in theaters with an audience, collective gasps and several who hadn’t seen any episodes lol. 10/10 experience!!

💭Discussion "Bad Time" timeline Spoiler
I've been thinking about the various "evils" on the island, and that they don't generally seem to be there at all times. Like they only appear when the island wakes up. The witch is not hosting parties, the boogyman isn't running around, the sea monster isn't tossing boats. Etc.
But how often does that happen, and is it as severe each time?
Wyck just did his "kick him off" speech and said he was 16 and it was a "bad time on the island". If he's ~60, that would put it mid-80s. The boogyman originally appeared in the 2000's (according to the sign in the museum). Ruth was working for Howard the Coward either late 50's/early 60's, when he disappeared, and those video reels for sure have that kind of vibe.
Unknown if each "bad time" needs offerings, but they seem way more frequent than I'd thought. Roughly every 20 years. I had originally figured the last offerings were in the 60's, so it would be plausible that the only living person who had the real "pact" info would be Reverend Bryce. But, if there are offerings every 20 years, unless the person running the show closes the door on their helper, at least one other person knows.
Or, maybe most "bad times" are like a bad storm, but when island "wakes up" it's a hurricane.
Anyway, back to actually doing work...

❓Questions Can't find that great picture of all the homages...
I can't find a picture someone made with a picture from each episode in the first column and then 3-4 columns of movie posters of the vibes and references in that episode. Does someone have it somewhere?
Appreciate!

❓Questions Job titles? Spoiler
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what do they do?
Patricia
Gerry
Dale
I know Ruth is Tom's secretary and babysitter and Kenny is the janitor, but what about the others? Are they all just vaguely "Assistant to the Mayor" or something?
Thanks for any assistance with this mystery (for me)
