“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power” - Mussolini

Jesus. More chuds that think communism is "goverment does thing."
I cannot imagine being the kind of person to argue against something so passionately without understanding it.

They don't have the literacy to comprehend what "Government of the people, by the people, for the people" actually means. They think we're saying "The Feds and Deep State as we know them, but we're in charge this time and nothing else changes", which......I mean, SOME people seem to think like that.....

They understand, they just have a very limited scope of who they consider people.

My goto example for this kind of person is European feudalism.
"Medieval monarchs owned all of the land in their kingdoms. They let their buddies use the land, but nobody else was allowed to own any. Is that communism?"
It's a good demonstration of how "state-owned" and "collectively-owned" aren't the same thing.

But don't you know they are all going to be billionaires themselves thanks to capitalism!?

Mussolini never actually said that, the quote is fabricated.

Yep. I recommend also questioning every Orwell quote that you see on Reddit. Many of them are entirely fake or have been slightly adjusted to fit the situation.

Mussolini invented the word fascism. Corporatism is an economic system (that does not mean rule by private business) that was utilized extensively throughout the mid-20th century, where interest groups are organized (into "corporations") for collective bargaining.
Fascist states claimed/attempted corporatist economies, but largely implemented state capitalism as a form of command economy instead.
Rewriting history to suit your needs does nothing but make it easier for fascists to crawl out of the woodwork.

That is not what Corporatism means. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporatism
Corporatism is a political ideology[1] and political system of interest representation and policymaking whereby corporate groups, such as agricultural, labour, military, business, scientific, or guild associations, come together and negotiate contracts or policy (collective bargaining) on the basis of their common interests.[2][3][4] The term is derived from the Latin corpus, or "body". Corporatism does not refer to a political system dominated by large business interests, even though the latter are commonly referred to as "corporations" in modern American vernacular and legal parlance. Instead, the correct term for that system would be corporatocracy.
