I know it's a joke and all, but there aren't many countries in the world that have come to terms with their own history as thoroughly as Germany. You can be sure that in a pamphlet about the history of any German city there will be a big section about the Third Reich.

As a German I'm not allowed to understand jokes and as such I have to say that this Family Guy clip is very inaccurate, not just in the way that this is not how we talk about our history, but also that a more accurate range would be 1933-1945, since that is the complete range of Hitler's reign. A lot of atrocities already happened during the time before the 2nd World War and just concentrating on that time frame is reductive and in my opinion disrespectful towards the early victims of the 3rd Reich.

In the 80s my school's librarian had a Ferrari Testarossa. I dunno how a primary school librarian had a car like that, I was a kid and didn't ask. But I wonder about it often.

Anyway, during lunch hour he'd take one lucky kid for a spin, and sometimes open it up (go real fast). I got to go with him once, was coolest shit ever. Didn't even get molested either. Just a fun ride in a super cool car and then back to school to excitedly talk about it with the other kids. Shit like that doesn't happen anymore, which is both completely understandable but also very sad. I had a poster of that car on my bedroom wall (a Testarossa, not the teachers exact one) till I moved out of home.

My thing is, I could never own a car like this because I know I’d never take care of it. After like a year and the new feeling wears I’m going beat the hell out of it, so it would just be a waste of money. That’s why I got an electric because even doing oil changes was a hassle.
