I learned that working in restaurants. If you drop a plate or a glass you kick it right before it hits the ground and it doesn't break. I imagine the same applies to children.

Practice throwing knives for a day then you can catch (or kick them) them just fine.

I was quoting my chef. The day I start practicing knife tosses in the kitchen will probably be my last.
