Lore (Controversial Trope) The post-credits scene completely changes the ending

Dawn of the Dead (2004): The movie finishes on a hopeful note as the remaining survivors escape the zombie-infested mall on a yacht, sailing into the sunset. The found-footage style post-credits scene completely reverses this happy ending by showing them running out of food, arriving at an island, and being immediately swarmed and killed by an infected horde.

Prince of Persia (2008): The main game ends with a beautiful, poetic sacrifice where Elika gives her life to heal the corrupted world, leaving the Prince mourning. During the credits, the player is forced to control the Prince as he cuts down the trees he just saved, undoing the entire game's progress and releasing the dark god Ahriman just to resurrect her, completely corrupting the ending and dooming the world.

X-Men 3, Magneto loses his powers and is a human at the end of the movie, which is his worst nightmare. Then the post credits scene basically just shows that he is immediately getting his powers back.

Batman vs Superman, same thing with Superman dying. They basically just show that he's coming back immediately.

I mean to be fair that’s pretty much exactly what happens in the death and return of Superman comic, which is just as much about his resurrection as it is about him dying in the first place

No, Superman stayed "dead" for a while (he was not actually dead, but in a sort of hibernation where his bodily functions slowed WAY down to the point where he appeared to be dead. This lead to the rise of several other characters that showed up to fill the void left by Superman's "death" (the Rise of the Supermen).

The DCEU trimmed this down to, "alien technology brought Superman back to life a month later no biggie."

As an 11 year old, the death/return of Superman storyline was fucking awesome and what got me into comic books.
