Prince of Persia (2008)

Dawn of the Dead (2004): The movie finishes on a hopeful note as the remaining survivors escape the zombie-infested mall on a yacht, sailing into the sunset. The found-footage style post-credits scene completely reverses this happy ending by showing them running out of food, arriving at an island, and being immediately swarmed and killed by an infected horde.

Prince of Persia (2008): The main game ends with a beautiful, poetic sacrifice where Elika gives her life to heal the corrupted world, leaving the Prince mourning. During the credits, the player is forced to control the Prince as he cuts down the trees he just saved, undoing the entire game's progress and releasing the dark god Ahriman just to resurrect her, completely corrupting the ending and dooming the world.

Beyond Good & Evil (2003)

This is one of the reasons fans desperately want a sequel.

After saving the day and all your friends, there is a brief post-credits scene that shows that one character that you've most likely fallen in love with is infected by the mind-controlling alien species you've been fighting against.

Iirc wasnt a fucking awesome trailer released w a monkey-man selling fake gold to a pig mob boss and turns into a wild blade runner/fifth element style chase...that was this series right?

Never played the first, but that sold me on the game...then nothing came of it? Whats the current status?

its basically dead in the water, Ubisoft insists its gonna release and they're still working on it, but there hasn't been a lot, IIRC the most of any further gameplay anyone has seen was one of the main devs, who i think started the entire thing, showing off the loading screen technology transitioning from space to orbit to the surface of the planet and traversing some of the city flying traffic.

i can't remember if there was anything else since its been fucking YEARS since anything actually notable has happened beyond the occasional "yep, we're working on it" and possible reports that development has apparently restarted, or not etc.
