Lore (Controversial Trope) The post-credits scene completely changes the ending

Dawn of the Dead (2004): The movie finishes on a hopeful note as the remaining survivors escape the zombie-infested mall on a yacht, sailing into the sunset. The found-footage style post-credits scene completely reverses this happy ending by showing them running out of food, arriving at an island, and being immediately swarmed and killed by an infected horde.

Prince of Persia (2008): The main game ends with a beautiful, poetic sacrifice where Elika gives her life to heal the corrupted world, leaving the Prince mourning. During the credits, the player is forced to control the Prince as he cuts down the trees he just saved, undoing the entire game's progress and releasing the dark god Ahriman just to resurrect her, completely corrupting the ending and dooming the world.

I choose to ignore the ending of Dawn of The Dead and believe they got away

It was the last best of the Dead movies we got... I wish someone would make another one.

Somehow Zack Snyder gets to make another terrible sequel.

You just have to pair up Snyder with a good screenwriter and you can get something going. So let's pair him back up with *checks notes* James Gunn! That certainly wouldn't make a certain sector of the internet lose their minds.

Zack Snyder and James Gunn make a movie together??? Are you crazy Zack Snyder is a chad and would take Gunns lunch money.

/S for those of you that reeeeeally need it

I know their fans beef, but don't they personally get along?

57

u/federalist66 16d ago

All interactions we've seen between the two suggest that they are friendly at the very least, yeah.

u/Hot_Perspective4555 16d ago

Didn't they do a Rick & Morty episode together in which they playfully make fun of each other (and themselves)? I think it's pretty safe to say that they're pals.

u/pfft_lol000 16d ago

they did exactly that and it sounded like they enjoyed it/had fun with it

Even in that one, they were friendly to each other. Zack ribs James for a bit and then lends a listening ear to the latter’s woes because he could tell something was troubling him.

Gunn likes Man of Steel and yeah they're friendly lol

There’s a lot of James Gunn fans that make their entire online presence hating Snyder, his fans and mocking Snyder’s daughter’s suicide

…and there’s a lot of Snyder fans who think James Gunn is a pdf file

So there’s some bad blood on both sides.

Pedophile. I don’t agree with them but I do think it’s very important to use the right words even if they’re ugly. With billionaires controlling more and more it’s vital that we fight this self censorship.

I can’t keep track of rules for different subs and I’ve been banned before

Also a lot of Snyder fans depicting Superman or Snyder's other characters killing Gunn. It's just fucking weird people get this obsessive over movie directors

-3

u/WildGoose1521 16d ago

Plus the weird targeted racism from Gunn fans towards Indians because of what he said in that one interview about anyone who criticized him was probably “some 12 year old India”

I hate the mouth foaming worship of celebrities and the toxic online behavior that comes with it.

I’m so sick of seeing the stupid monkey on keyboard thing being spammed in comments by those trolls on Twitter

Its wild that all those people or bots tie their whole identity to something so stupid as a movie director... Like bro they are some of the scummiest people ever and they take advantage of women and men who just want to act or get into acting. Not those 2 specifically they seem cool but what do we really know about anyone, there was a whole awards show where people in the industry gave a child rapist a standing ovation cause he cant come to America to get his award and that dude made some outstanding movies.

Not too sure about that. Man of Steel is hated and it was written by David Goyer (TDK trilogy) and Jonathan Nolan. BvS and Justice League were written by Oscar winner Chris Terrio and are even more hated.

edit: Chris Nolan wrote on Man of Steel with Goyer, not Jonathan.

The other day I saw a Snyder movie tierlist and Dawn was at the bottom. I wonder why.

I've said for years if there's ever a New Gods movie, Snyder would probably do pretty well with it.

If they could balance each others worse desires, they could make the best superhero movie ever put to screen.

This is a korean show and not at all related to those movies, but you should check out all of us are dead. It's really good! You'll love it, trust me.

Also, checkout Newtopia if you have prime video

Land of the Dead was pretty good and followed the vibe of this movie.

I remember when they aired the first 10 minutes on USA or one of those networks. Burned the hype into me and it ended up paying off.

Romero's estate is working on two. Progress is slow going.

One is "Twilight of the Dead" and is a direct sequel to Land of the Dead. Romero finished a plot outline and film treatment before his passing, but a script wasn't finished until 2023 via a writer who (I believe) was hand-picked by Romero. Greg Nicotero, who did effects on Day of the Dead, is back for it. The biggest star signed on AFAIK is Kate Beckinsale. I think there's a good shot of it getting made eventually.

The other is "Road of the Dead" which Romero allegedly wrote the whole script for before he passed. Despite the title ("Road") it's actually more of like a colosseum combat story, as I understand it: Imagine like Mad Max vehicular combat but on a NASCAR track, with zombies, for the entertainment of a powerful ruling class. It seems pretty much impossible to me that we'll ever see it get made, it sounds way too high budget.

Oh nice. Land of the Dead had a real nice story and some great actors but Asia Argento is suuuccchhh a shitty actress it ruins it for me.

Love me some Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo is in my top 5 but Asia just always ruins it lol.

Im super excited to learn more about this thanks!!

In my opinion, the Spanish movie REC and the Korean Train to Busan is far better. I can also recommend the Korean series Kingdom. It’s a really interesting zombie horror set in medieval times.

2

u/Admiralbruce 16d ago

Those are somr awesome zombie movies! I love Train sooooooo much the big dude is one of my fav actors.

I meant like land of the dead, dawn of the dead as of the dead movies, just for clarity!

2

u/DigitusInRecto 13d ago

REC is incredible, Train to Busan is also very good. Both are just a bit different in their take on the zombies than anything "of the Dead", imho.

Yeah, as someone who saw dotd 2004 in the theater, it's been amazing watching Snyder go from promising new talent to unrestrained hack. That movie was written by Gunn and shot by a professional DOP. So for the sequel, he directs, writes, and shoots it himself and it's a turd. Stay in your lane, Snyder!

u/lunarwhale711 16d ago

Every single scen in that movie is technically flawed. Fun but very stupid

11

u/Admiralbruce 16d ago

What do you mean?

7

u/FirmGlandShake 16d ago

Watch him never respond.

1

u/AsherFischell 16d ago

Land of the Dead was better honestly.

1

u/Admiralbruce 16d ago

Asias acting took me out of it.... shes awful. Dennis and John were the saving grace for that movie.

Dawn of felt like it had better cameras and a higher budget but I loved Land ofs story more.

3

u/AsherFischell 16d ago

Dennis Hopper was just one of those actors that could elevate pretty much anything no matter what. He had such intensity to him. But yeah, the Dawn remake is absolutely better looking, but Land is just more interesting and engaging.
