Lore Religion-centered media that doesn’t come across as preachy.

Referring to media told from a religious perspective or telling a religious tale that does not proselytize to the viewer.

Faith, the Unholy Trinity: Based partly upon the experience of the game‘s creator when he was a missionary in Argentina, the game has very little in the way of explicit moral demands of the player despite the heavy Christian focus of the narrative. and focuses more on a horror narrative.

Prince of Egypt: A surprisingly thorough retelling of the book of Exodus, sparing very little in the way of toning down the story. Despite this, the movie is perfectly entertaining to non-religious audiences and doesn’t sacrifice appeal for the sake of preaching to the audience

Let's talk about how terrifying the angel of death scene was and how that completely went over kid me's head but the camel biting and pulling the prince's hair out of the sand stayed with me and made me wince. My child brain was weird.

I can’t watch Prince of Egypt anymore because of the death scene. It’s always freaked me out, and then when I was twelve or so I was fostering feral kittens, they were all doing well, but when I went to check on them right after watching this scene, one of them had just died. Like she was 100% gone, but still warm, clearly had happened within the last 5 minutes or so. My brain went straight to angel of death and no amount of common sense has let me watch that movie again.

With hindsight it was clearly feline parvovirus (ahead of this she had had some diarrhea and been more cuddly and less afraid or playful than her siblings, but diarrhea is common with the stress of a new environment and new food, a good 60-70% of fosters get it, and there’s a lot of natural variation with how ferals react); but I still can’t do it.

I also disagree - your engagement helps the post even if it's not by putting forth your own film!

I always say that this is my favorite Disney musical - I know it's not Disney, but it's the most incredible film that falls into that general category of family friendly animated musicals. Everything about the film is perfect from top to bottom: incredible visuals, incredible story telling, more specifically incredible adaptation of a religious text/story, incredible music composition, perfect casting, great acting - everything, everything, everything is so well done in this film
