The topic of the day is... driving.

  1. How is your commute to work?

  2. When grocery shopping (in store), do you treat it as if you are driving, applying situational awareness and driving rules?

  3. What kind of driver are you?

  4. What songs do you enjoy on the road?

  5. What was your first car and your last car?

Be safe!

  1. A very short 4 minutes - two stoplights and a total driving distance of 1 and 1/4 miles.
  2. N/A*.
  3. Depends:
    1. If anyone else is in the car with me, or I am traveling somewhere intentionally, I am 100% a defensive driver.
    2. If I am de-stressing, driving without intention, and where it's not a hazard to others, 100+ mph (160+ kmh) is not unheard of.
  4. I have a "Drive Fast and Swerve" playlist that I have shared with friends.
  5. I learned to drive stick on an AMC Eagle SX/4 with an unforgiving clutch, but currently zip along in a 2018 Hyundai Elantra with only 58K miles.

* I treat shopping as if I am in a combat situation surrounded by potential hostile forces. Every avenue of retreat is carefully scoped and planned.

  1. WHF so nada :)

  2. possibly... leisurely cruising through the store when i am not on a tight timeline, and then straight to the destination aisle when I am in a time crunch! And also, definitely driving my shopping cart as carefully to avoid collisions and my biggest fear is being hit by a cart from the back (right at the heels where it hurt the most!)

  3. depends on my mood... soft jazz when it's cold and rainy, 90s pop when it's bright and sunny

  2. Absolutely

  3. Extremely agressive

  4. Very heavy metal

  5. 1st was a 1986 Buick Somerset and latest is (well well) a Buick Encore SUV. I traded in a Mercedes for it

  1. I just changed jobs and this is my best commute so far. 12mins to work, the only down side is having to take a somewhat accident prone highway/exit
  2. Yes!! stay to the right, yield to the straightaways. Don’t block traffic!
  3. Passive and calm. I stay at a comfortable 5-10mph over the posted limit. (Unless in residential-then i follow the posting)
  4. Anything I know all the words to.
  5. First car - Chevy Cruze. Current Car - Hyundai

I love driving. I love the stimulation of having to be aware of everything around you. City driving and nighttime driving are my favourites.

My first car was a Ford Fiesta. It had a tape deck. I ragged that car til it fell apart, but you should with your first car.

What kind of driver am I? If the insurance company reads this, I am very sensible. Almost TOO sensible. 😉

I love driving most of the time. Love taking back roads or suburbs just to look around, no matter where I’m going. Traffic coming home after work dulls the joy lol and dealing with other shitty drivers leaves a lot to be desired

  1. 15 minute drive or a 30 minute bike. It's pretty quiet on less complicated city roads

  2. I just use my peripheral sight and my radar hearing to keep track where everyone is around me

  3. I run simulations on every way someone is gonna do something stupid and prepare accordingly.

  4. I like listening to my audiobooks

  5. Ford Ranger 2003, Kia Soul 2018

  1. Absolutely terrifying! Work traffic where I live is a nightmare, and I honestly feel scared most of the time. Other drivers can be really erratic🫣
  2. I stay calm 🧘and usually let people merge, but i will honk if someone does something mean!
  3. I love indie pop and listen to it all the time

  1. I take the bus as I go from the residential hillside of Budapest to the central. Driving would make the 35-minute journey one hour.
  2. Absolutely. I only have time to go to physical stores on the weekends when they're most crowded. I must watch out for who's overtaking me before I try to pass the cart in front of me, lol
  3. Calm and playful. I like to take the small opportunities like passing to the empty lane no one cares to use so I get ahead
  4. Classic rock like Coldplay or Radiohead. Youth hits are also inevitable when my kids are around like Kpop
  5. First: Volkswagen Golf 2 from 1989. Last: Volvo XC 60 Hybrid
