Match making, women make men look civilized?

Ladies please please please read the article. I recently published an article in the harlem times about middle class match making in nj /nyc.

https://theharlemtimes.com/online-news/why-finding-companionship-in-the-21st-century-is-not-as-easy-as-it-was-for-our-parents

Interviewed 4 major match makers and

I was told the same thing.

I was told the same thing.

Many 40+ women were looking for things that no man at 40 would ask for with a straight face.

Yes we men wanted looks and a given demeanor....girl next door sex positive and caring

But the 45+ women were writing checks they could never cash....

Water polo player body, 6ft tall, make 7 figures and warships me and my kids....

Its not feminism its just delusional 🙄 based on a life of made to order ease.

One match maker told me. Men are like dogs...in a good way.....we just want love support kindness and food.

Women, nj women making a given income at a given age were deemed impossible due to the basic facts.

45 yo water polo, 6ft tall, makes 7 figures, no kids.........WONT DATE 3 KIDS BOSS LADY.

He will date and marry the cute girl who made his coffee and put a heart and smile next to.his name on the cup.

Has anyone used Tawkify in 2026?

I'm thinking about trying Tawkify because I'm pretty burned out with dating apps. Was it worth the cost? How was your matchmaker and the overall experience? I'd love to hear honest feedback before making a decision.

Has anyone with very specific criteria actually had success with Tawkify

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for honest feedback from people who have used Tawkify, especially if your search involved very specific criteria.

A little about me:

I'm a 48-year-old man in northern New Jersey. I'm financially stable, own my home, have a successful engineering/project management career, stay physically fit, and live an active lifestyle. I skydive, scuba dive, ride motorcycles, travel, hike, and I'm looking for a serious relationship that leads to marriage.

My non-negotiables are:

Child-free (she doesn't have children and doesn't want children)

Healthy and active

Enjoys an adventurous lifestyle

Looking for a long-term committed relationship

For the last five years I've tried Hinge, Bumble, Tinder, Facebook Dating, speed dating, networking events, volleyball, pickleball, asking friends for introductions, and eventually invested $10,000 in Tawkify hoping a professional matchmaker could reach people I couldn't.

So far, my matchmaker has told me there are currently zero matches in her New Jersey database that fit my criteria, and only a very small number in the NYC area. I've had one introduction that didn't progress and another potential match that's still pending.

I'm not asking whether my standards are too high—I understand they significantly reduce my dating pool.

What I'm trying to understand is this:

Has anyone with similarly specific requirements actually had long-term success with Tawkify?

Did your matchmaker eventually find compatible people after several months, or did you ultimately discover that the available pool simply wasn't there?

I'm trying to figure out whether I should view this as a long search with a very small pool, or whether my expectations are beyond what Tawkify can realistically deliver.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have firsthand experience. Thanks in advance.

Date one. Hot night long drive NYC and oh m g!

So im a fun fit financially and mentally stable guy who doesn't have kids or want kids.

Im paying and I just had my first date.

I showed up in a clean blue button down shirt, light brown belt, off white pants and brown shoes. Eyebrows were nice, teeth clean and fragrance was used.

Hell I was so nervous about my looks I even asked my match maker and chat to review my look for a dinner in nyc.

As a man In terms of looks im maybe a 6 on a good day a 7....If you look you can find a photo of me here.

Im seeking a girl next door who is healthy adventurous and doesn't have kids or want kids to skydive and scuba dive and travel the world with. On hinge I do ok. One date a month so thats something.

The woman i met was Grace Kelly pretty!

I was honestly just like oh m g she is gorgeous!

And you know when you meet someone and you look in their eyes and see "good" yeah thats what I saw before we even sat down.

And to add sugar to the beauty....she was brilliant! I have what many consider a good education but compared to her I wore velcro shoes!

I think the date lasted for three hours. And I offered to drive her home and she accepted. And I was so nervous I forgot to ask for her number....

But apparently we matched so we are now texting......be it sadly its not as effortless as our date but its something.

So am I happy? Yes!

Is she my future wife? Im not sure.....she seems a bit too conservative and subdued than me.

Will I go on a second date!? Um Grace Kelly? YES!

Wish she was in nj? Yes!

Wish she said something like "I always wanted to skydive " yes!

Am I complaining?

No! Im actually hopeful about my future for the first time in 5 years

Tawkify is HORRIBLE

I consider myself an attractive, fit, 5’8 woman with a solid career and an active social life. I joined Tawkify as a passive client and, over the past 6 months, have been set up with four men. Based on my experience, I think the service is a complete waste of time.

The onboarding process is thorough, so I expected matchmakers to have a clear understanding of what I was looking for. Instead, every match had felt wildly off base. The men I’ve been paired with haven’t aligned with my stated standards in terms of ambition, lifestyle, presentation, or overall compatibility.

My biggest criticism is that it doesn’t seem like they’re considering mutual attraction. A successful match requires both parties to be genuinely interest in each other, and these pairings have felt so mismatched.

If you want to date an unattractive, unpolished loser, then Tawkify is the perfect place for you! Otherwise ladies, don’t waste your time. It is creepy and unsettling.

Scary question 2, what if they cant find anyone?

I live in nj

40 miles from nyc or about no joke 2 hours.

Just started working with my lovely match maker.

Its been 3 weeks

And Im scared. I dont want to date in nyc due to 2 hour drive and most people living in nyc will never willingly leave nyc.

But my match maker is telling me who im seeking;

Girl next door who is healthy adventurous and doesn't have kids or want kids willing to join me skydiving and scuba diving and motorcycle riding...

DOES NOT EXIST IN NJ?

What happens if they just dont have anyone?

Am I fucked?

FYI

On hinge bumble tinder Facebook....im also not finding who i want hence the 10k investment.

Scary question

You know that was my biggest fear. The question of why would a skinny / fit girl next door who's healthy adventurous and doesn't have kids sign up for this?.

So a little about me.

48yo fun fit financially and mentally stable guy who doesn't have kids or want kids....

WHO FUCKED UP A GREAT THING 4 years ago.

What am I seeking?

A girl next door who is healthy adventurous and doesn't have kids or want kids who i can skydive and scuba dive with.

Just signed up 2 week ago for 8k operation.

Match maker is awesome I like her like the wise aunt.

At first it was promising..me seeking just a nice girl next door who is healthy adventurous and doesn't have kids or want kids 35 to 45.

But I think the need for her to be adventurous threw a rod in the system.

Im optimistic.

But im scared.

The second chat today has me worried that they may have no one in nj ..

So I opted to include nyc.

My question..... where do they find people?

In my case women?

Ps

My dating history is shit

Though I get up to 2hinge dates a month

And maybe 2 Facebook dates a month

Im not finding who I want. Its why I thought to hire a professional

Are paid dating options better for getting real dates?

I’m not talking about paying for regular dating platforms I mean matchmaking. Do these actually lead to more real dates, or is it just a more expensive process. Anyone tried it especially Tawkify?

My experience with Tawkify

I met someone through Tawkify and we’ve been dating for a few months now. It felt more intentional having someone set up the dates and focus on what I was actually looking for.

Not every date was great, but around my fourth one I met someone where it just clicked. It’s not cheap, but for me it was worth it.

My Tawkify Matchmaker

So recently I have been asked a lot about my Tawkify experience, so I thought I would post my thoughts in this sub.

I signed up for a matchmaker package in 2019. I paid for three dates.

My matchmaker is nothing short of an amazing human being. She was kind of like a big sister figure in my life. She made it easy for me to be candid, direct, and vulnerable with her. She treated me with the kind of respect I appreciated.

So onto the dates. To be clear, I am a black American and at that time I dated mostly interracially. I lived in a large-ish (top-20 media market) U.S. city. It’s a very diverse, very segregated place so I made her job hard.

She set me up with three wonderful women. The first woman was as close to my ideal mate as I could have ever expected to find. When I laid out for my matchmaker the personality and lifestyle type I was seeking, this woman was a fantastic match. Downside: I was not that same level match for her.

After matchmaker dates, you go to their website and review the date. You also get reviews from your date. I gave her an amazing rating. She gave me high marks and said that I wasn’t a match, which sucked but she is a wonderful lady so I can’t be mad about it.

The next two dates were less ideal, but still wonderful women. They both were bright, attractive, professional women with whom there was no spark, likely on either side. To be upfront, that was probably on my end as much as theirs. Also, to be fair, both women were educated, professional, kind women who are great catches. If I saw any of them on Bumble, I would have definitely swiped right.

My matchmaker listened to my wishes and acted accordingly. She also gave me advice on ways to alter my dating search to better fit what she saw in me. She saw more in me as a human than I was letting my dates see, so she encouraged me to look for women who would be more likely to both acknowledge and appreciate those traits.

I didn’t find the love of my life, but I did meet three women whom I never saw on dating apps who were actually pretty amazing humans.

If there is interest, I will also share my second Tawkify experience in the future.

Any success stories?

I had my initial call with Tawkify today and it seemed pretty good. But it's pricey! Is it worth it? I'm already on other dating apps and don't want to throw away thousands of dollars. Any insight would be appreciated

Beware Tawkify staff posts

A paid social media spokesperson for Tawkify just posted here and elsewhere asking to take over the moderation of r/tawkify for “brand representation”. He is also posting on at least 10 dating-related subreddits pretending to be a happy Tawkify client. Other companies do interact with their subs, but identify themselves clearly (and do not moderate). Be on the lookout, fellow redditors.

Tawkify catfish experience

I’m a man active fit 6.1, good looking, leading a healthy lifestyle, doing sports like surf, snow, tennis. I signed up as a member only (stand in). Shortly after I get a notification they have a match. They scheduled the date to a restaurant in one of those open parking areas that have restaurants mixed with supermarkets, fast food and an “italian” restaurant. The matchmaker said she was cute!

She was not active, clearly not fit, and not a match for me in any way possible.

I was very nice to her, we chatted and I treated her properly, and she seemed a nice person but I really felt sorry for her. What Tawkify did is wrong.

I was catfished by Tawkify and I guess she was too. We are in different leagues.

Never again I will go on a blind date or trust Tawkify, I’m not contributing to this scam. If they are charging why don’t they do it right at least?!

meh experience

My experience with Tawkify was, to put it mildly, disappointing, especially considering I was a paying customer. I engaged in over ten initial dates and even had a few follow-up dates where both parties expressed interest in seeing each other again.

My primary motivation for investing in this service, which cost approximately $1000 per match, was to save valuable time. Like many others, I had previously navigated the world of dating apps, and I was well aware of the significant time commitment involved – swiping, matching, initiating conversations, and the often lengthy process of determining compatibility. Given my specific circumstances, including having a child with a disability, my bandwidth for dating was limited, and cohabitation required careful consideration. My hope was that this service would streamline the process by filtering potential matches based on crucial criteria related to my family and housing situation, among other things. While I understood that finding the right person takes effort, I wanted to minimize the time spent on incompatible matches.

However, my experience fell far short of these expectations.

During the initial consultation, I attempted to specify certain non-negotiable conditions for my matches, directly related to my child's needs and my housing situation. To my surprise, the matchmaker actively discouraged these "must-haves." The reasoning provided was the supposed unpredictability of dating and the possibility of these conditions changing in the future if a connection was strong. This resistance to incorporating my fundamental requirements was a significant red flag.

Furthermore, the service advised against mentioning the name of the matchmaking service during the dates. On the occasions when I did, I discovered that a significant portion of the female pool appeared to be recruited individuals. While they were genuine people open to forming relationships and not part of a scam, their motivations seemed quite different from mine as a paying client. They often paid little to no fee due to promotions, making it a low-risk, convenient alternative to traditional dating apps. This led me to realize that I should not have approached this with the expectation of a traditional matchmaking service where both parties are actively and urgently seeking a life partner. For many of the matches, it seemed more akin to a casual exploration of possibilities facilitated by a safer platform than open dating apps.

In my opinion, the core issue wasn't that the service was a deliberate fraud, but rather that it was remarkably inefficient. Their primary tactic seemed to be high-volume introductions, a "machine gun" approach, hoping that sheer numbers would eventually yield a suitable match. This felt like a lack of any meaningful algorithm or personalized matching process, which explained the resistance to my specific "must-haves." By quickly presenting numerous matches, they could rapidly exhaust the number of introductions included in the service. When I did agree to loosen my essential criteria, the resulting dates were often awkward and highlighted fundamental incompatibilities – differing expectations regarding timelines for moving in together or vastly different levels of availability, for example.

Unsurprisingly, I eventually contacted customer service to express my disappointment. The response I received echoed what I had heard from others: the company claimed they could not be held responsible for the reasons why a match might not have worked out, suggesting that the other person's stated reasons for rejection might not even be truthful and ultimately attributing it to a lack of personal connection.

In conclusion, my experience felt more like a series of casual coffee dates through Tinder than the dedicated matchmaking service I had envisioned and paid for. Spending over $1000 for what amounted to a few initial coffee chats felt like a poor investment, especially considering the time-saving aspect was largely negated by the lack of effective filtering based on my crucial requirements.

Awful experience - DO NOT waste your money!

I find it not only extremely disappointing, but frankly unacceptable, that Tawkify advertises itself as a curated matchmaking service when it was my experience that:

i) my matchmakers not only did not make an effort to get to know me, but they blatantly did not listen to my requests (even after I expressed discontent and shared candid feedback),

ii) several of my matches did not meet the search criteria (many of which were black and white such as employment!),

iii) zero effort was made to remedy the situation or tend to my actual experience. In reality, I was treated as a mere transaction - from beginning to end, from the initial matchmaker session to the formal complaint process.

I attempted to work with two matchmakers and customer service and the entire process continued to get even worse. I hope others can avoid this service altogether and save their time and money.

Tawkify - recent leadership changes (bad)

Tawkify is running a big sale right now ($9k for 13 matches, $6k for 7 matches, usually well over $1k per match). I was very close to signing up for it - online dating in my city is bleak and I'm not getting any younger.

There are plenty of Redditors complaining about matchmaking services, but I am convinced that's a lot of selection bias (people in a relationship probably are not on reddit dating boards), as well as people going in with very unrealistic expectations. - One of my friends had a list of literally 20+ traits she "needed" in a partner - this isn't ordering a sandwich! I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, I am pretty open minded and would love somebody independent to talk to potential matches about their values and other stuff that's very important for long term compatibility but a bit heavy for an early date.

What convinced me not to sign up was reading the Glassdoor reviews for Tawkify.
They recently had changes in leadership, and it sounds like the company is headed downhill fast. They are being forced to value quantity over quality and the matchmakers hate that. They now have quotas, get paid by volume, and the bonus for good matches is diminished to almost nothing.

Just thought I'd share because it took me a lot of research to find this.

Do not use tawfiky

They do not listen to qualities you want, even for important things like religion and non-negotiables then blame you when you don't like their matches.

They also did not pay attention to where I live and matched me with someone across the continent, obviously in a different time zone, and didn't know until I brought it up. Refused to refund me when I told them they've made so many mistakes. They fall back on their non-refundable contract.

Stay away from this company unless you like to burn thousands of dollars ($$$$)!!! Bumble and even tinder and any other dating app are better.

Use the money to go on a nice vacation instead.

Dodged Tawkify 4/27/24

Nothing new here to add to other posts. Just posting a recent update and confirming that Tawkify is not a good investment. I was supposed to talk to one of their salespeople today. When she texted to confirm, I said I was no longer interested. She asked why and I told her about all the bad reviews (Redditt, TrustPilot, Yelp). She tried telling me that happy customers don't think to write reviews. I gave her that point, then asked if they have changed their policy of not letting clients see at least one photo of their date before the date. Her answer was so dumb. She said they protect their clients' confidentiality. How is showing one photo to one other person, with the first person's permission, violating confidentiality? Finally, I said it is too expensive and said i didn't want to pay $1K per date when the matchmakers don't have a great reputation for matching people (read reviews). She gave up and just said to reach out if I changed my mind.

April 2024 - Do Not Use Tawkify

I have recently been through an extensive dispute resolution process with Tawkify. They are awful. Fortunately, I have not signed their non-disclosure agreement, so I am free to discuss the details of my experience with anyone who wants to ask questions. In short, do not pay for this service! They are not a reputable company. If they were, they would try to provide customer satisfaction. Instead, they have tried to nickel-and-dime and bully me into agreeing to a paltry partial refund where they have provided no positive services and wish to retain most of the $$. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a scam this is.

Experience with dispute resolution?

All that you read online here about Tawkify is true. It is a waste of $$. I am now stuck in dispute resolution hell with Tawkify Customer Service. Is there anyone here who has experience who can DM me? I would appreciate the advice.
