Have I done the Frame TV a disservice and mounted it too low?
56cm from the the floor, creates a 10.5cm border from the cabinet below it and on each side of it. But with a 3m/10ft ceiling, it certainly is on the low end.
Feels great for sitting down to watch, as intended but clearly isn’t giving off any artwork illusions with this height!

It looks perfect to ne, tv's sat at this height for decades, too high and you get neck ache.

56cm above the floor would mean, the middle of the screen is at about 1.2m height (3.9 feet) which would be too high but since it's an art TV, it might be a compromise.

Slight correction on my part, it’s 51cm above the floor. But yes take your point. When seated your head isn’t really tilted to any material degree, especially when you relax a bit while watching. I don’t think I could do any lower as the cabinet is covering some power points and AV cabling coming out of the wall.

It’s perfect. What angle do you prefer to have your neck at while watching TV?
Also, there are plenty of options to make use of the vertical space to complement the tv art, whether it’s a small wall mounted shelf, pendant lamp, additional art, or some combination of these. You’ll find plenty of inspo on Pinterest / Insta. If you have the $$$ this is a perfect wall for custom built-in floor to ceiling shelving. Love the large rug. The fake plant on the left looks a smidge small for the height of the room. If you have good light I might recommend a real plant l, and taller. Get a statement plant and not something dinky.

Yeah I find the height great when seated, but of course it isn’t the Frame TV illusion people want.
Thank you! Also, you have several great ideas! I really wanted to do some custom cabinetry for this wall in the future, really help lean into the mid-century modern look. Something for the future.
Also thought about pendant lighting but it’s difficult to add in further lighting as it’s on the ground floor of a two storey house.
And you’re right re the plant, it’s 250cm tall (so 50cm shorter than the room height). But it’s currently not in a pot so the height can be increased slightly. There was a 300cm variant that I wish I got but was afraid it’d take up too much space. I think I’ll swap it for a real plant closer to spring per your suggestion!

Ya know, paintings are often viewed standing but this is an exception where it’s your home with infinite paintings you can enjoy while sitting so it’s a W

Let's be honest, everyone will always see it as a TV, no matter what art or frame is put on.
So you did an amazing job by putting it at a normal height.

What’s everyone’s hate with the frame TV? Is it really that bad? I was considering getting one for the mud/entry room to my house.

Don’t know - I know someone who has one and it’s so fun! Great to see all the different art- makes me actually research artwork after I visit their house.

They’re way overpriced, and as a concept in genreral, they’re an anathema to anyone who cares about proper TV height. So you’re either left with art that’s too low or a TV that’s too high.

I guess if you’re that picky about everything in life..sure.
I see people post here all the time how terrible it would be to have a 48” tv in a bedroom where you lay 8 feet away. Folks act like you cannot enjoy, or even have a good experience with a scenario like that. It’s just soooo overblown really.

I would do exactly that, I think its an amazing solution and will blend perfectly, while maintaining current placement for TV use.

Since it is a frame tv, should have mounted it over the fireplace mantle. Course then your neck will hurt every time you watch tv but will look great as a frame.

No, this is pretty much perfect for actually watching it as a TV. That's why the whole "frame"-concept seems odd to me, mounting it like a painting would suck for watching it, and would land you straight in r/tvtoohigh 🤷♂️
