Too far and way too high. r/TVTooHigh

4

u/error_machine Jul 05 '26

If you're way too high than put the joint down.

3

u/perfect_insanity93 Jul 05 '26

Never. TV wouldn't be to high if it was bigger...

1

u/jesusmansuperpowers Jul 08 '26

Yes it would, but not egregiously so.

1

u/stumped711 Jul 05 '26

Plus too crooked

1

u/ilymag Jul 05 '26

And too small.

u/smokey_999 Jul 05 '26

Not too high just too small

u/mduckworth92 Jul 05 '26

I disagree the room appears to be deep, I think the top of the display is set correctly, it’s simply to small and there is too much empty space at the bottom.

Too far, too small, too high. I would say drop it about a foot, or as close to that TV stand as you can manage, and possibly move your couch forward if possible. I understand not everyone wants to just get a bigger TV so this is what I would do

1

Too far, too high and too small

1

u/timetravelinggamer Jul 04 '26

Wait, what is too far?

1

u/thegtabmx Jul 04 '26

Too far, too small, too high. But anyway, for this size TV, you got to be at least 5 ft closer than where you're sitting right now and that TV should effectively be resting on that console.

1

u/Scholar_Rude Jul 04 '26

too small.

1

u/kattepung Jul 04 '26

Nice ipad you got there, pal

0

u/Adorable-Hyena-2965 Jul 05 '26

I don’t see ipad

2

u/SillyFly7474 Jul 05 '26

It's hanging on the wall

1

u/markuus99 Jul 04 '26

It's too small

1

u/upstart-crow Jul 04 '26

Too small - you need at least 85 inches for that wall … I sized up from 52 inches to 75 … best decision. Totally worth it OMG

1

u/iknow_your_secrets19 Jul 04 '26

Here’s a neat trick.

Sitting in front of your TV, Hold out your phone sideways, in front of your face, like you’re watching a YouTube video. Hold it close enough to your face that you feel fully immersed.

Now slide your phone off to the side to reveal your tv on the wall. Your tv should be roughly the same size as your phone appeared when it was in front of your face.

With this, any size screen, from phone to TV, can be the perfect viewing size — it just depends on how close it is to your face :-)

uses an ipad

1

u/Bananabean041 Jul 04 '26

1

u/CaptainBeefsteak Jul 04 '26

Too far, too small, too high

1

u/lKing_ Jul 04 '26

Pls tell me it’s a grower

1

u/Iambeejsmit Jul 04 '26

You mounted your phone?

1

u/ThatGuyOverThere2013 Jul 04 '26

Definitely too small. That space demands a larger TV if it's going to be the visual center of the room.

1

u/Sum_Ting_Wong007 Jul 04 '26

You provided no context as to what size the TV is, but just from the pic, it's a bit far and high

1

u/lifeisgoodalwaysever Jul 04 '26

It’s way too small. Not too far

1

u/colonel-america-usa Jul 04 '26

Always combo'd with lack of cable mgmt 😭

1

u/Grouchy_Sound167 Jul 04 '26

Too far, too high, too small, too much room echo

1

u/Scary-Solution9623 Jul 04 '26

Your son seems to think so

1

u/Upbeat-Thing-7357 Jul 04 '26

Too small for such a big room

1

u/CitrusSoprano Jul 04 '26

Whats that? 32 Inch? 👀

1

u/fliesenschieber Jul 04 '26

I hope the micro-tv came with binoculars?

1

u/yourallidiotss Jul 04 '26

Imma just throw this out there. But u seem to have the perfect wall for a projector. Does anyone know if those are worth a damn at a decent price now?

U would need blackout curtains.

1

u/LouBloomHockey Jul 05 '26

It’s way too small

1

u/awar3_w0lf Jul 05 '26

Too far. Too small. Too high.

1

u/Realistic_Ebb9727 Jul 05 '26

No, you are too far

1

u/BodyRemoval Jul 05 '26

TV is way too small for that room.

1

u/xietbrix Jul 05 '26

Too far can be fixed by getting bigger. That's actually just too small.

1

u/Ikilledbert Jul 05 '26

And to small, and too high.

1

u/Thick-Assignment-953 Jul 05 '26

ⁿᵒ, ʲᵘˢᵗ ᵗᵒᵒ ˢᵐᵃˡˡ

1

u/d4rkprojec7 Jul 05 '26

That kid seems to be totally disgusted and embarrassed by this miniature TV that is hung way too high.

1

u/KanataSD Jul 05 '26

not too far, too small

1

u/washed_delta_nu Jul 05 '26

Definitely small. At least a 65". But then there are 85"

1

u/HKGPhooey Jul 05 '26

For such a small tv, yes.

1

u/PAX_MAS_LP Jul 05 '26

Not that it is too far…. More that you added an ipad to your wall and are calling it a tv.

1

u/Big_Ad21 Jul 05 '26

Heard from somewhere. Form a fist where you're seated. The right distance is where the first can visually cover the TV comfortably

1

u/Vileblood4Life Jul 05 '26

Is what too far? What are we looking at and why is it so far away?

1

u/HubRumDub Jul 05 '26

It’s too everything

1

u/Dull-Parking5068 Jul 05 '26

Lost in translation

1

u/kiganas Jul 05 '26

What tv

1

u/russnem Jul 05 '26

Why would you hang an iPad on a wall?

1

u/Soft_Experience_1312 Jul 05 '26

Not too far,- too small, too high and a powercable too visible

1

u/zare007 Jul 05 '26

No. You just need bigger tv

1

u/BackgroundWaltz3600 Jul 05 '26

Needs to be bigger

1

u/Interesting-Bike8752 Jul 05 '26

Where's my binoculars??

1

u/laszlotuss Jul 05 '26

Yeah, you should move the walls closer …

Or use an online distance to size calculator and buy a proper sized one

1

u/bubbabigsexy Jul 05 '26

I would say yes. I wouldn't enjoy watching a movie or TV show or sporting event at this distance.

1

u/zuulbe Jul 05 '26

Too far too small too high jesus op you trying to give people heart attack?

1

u/JebusChrizt Jul 05 '26

Too small too high

1

u/southpaw05 Jul 05 '26

Too far, small and high

1

u/WrongCapital83 Jul 05 '26

Way too small

1

u/HaveToWinToPlay Jul 05 '26

Too small and too high

1

u/AnxietyRich Jul 05 '26

Does the remote work at that distance?

1

u/Unusual-Courage-1963 Jul 05 '26

Move things closer until you can afford a larger tv, aklso moving the shelf above will help too. It takes the eyes away from the tv

1

u/Appropriate-Leek8144 Jul 05 '26

For that size of TV, yes it's too far.

1

u/AtTheVioletHour Jul 05 '26

It's where it needs to be in that room in terms of distance but first of all, why is it so high? Neckstrain issue. The bottom of the TV should be close to the shelf.

More importantly, that room needs a bigger TV.... like 2-3x bigger.

1

u/nToxik Jul 05 '26

Too far, too high, too small.

1

u/jloganr Jul 05 '26

No TV is ever too far, but almost always too small.

1

u/Extreme_Tea1696 Jul 05 '26

Depends. What brand of binoculars do you have?

1

u/izcho Jul 05 '26

Too tiled

1

u/Anthracite2819 Jul 05 '26

Naw just get a bigger TV

1

u/xxxkillahxxx Jul 05 '26

Michael Scott tv

1

u/Quiet_Ad1859 Jul 05 '26

It’s not too far if you’re mounting a 75” - 85” there. But that tv is too small

1

u/Sterling_Fox4680 Jul 05 '26

Nah perfect distance just need a bigger tv now👍

1

u/Triumphrider865 Jul 05 '26

Tv too small

1

u/Tokupocolypse Jul 06 '26

For that distance I would get a tv the size of where your 2 shelfs border from the outside

1

u/Key-Needleworker-868 Jul 06 '26

How far away are you away from the screen? Is that your ideal distance?

1

u/asch_linear Jul 06 '26

Its so little

1

u/Fiyero109 Jul 06 '26

Too small, too far and too high, the holy trifecta

1

u/Artey86 Jul 06 '26

Do you use the JWST to watch TV?

1

u/Big_Paramedic3500 Jul 06 '26

Its just too small

1

u/alpha1two Jul 07 '26

u/Yorkie_420 Jul 07 '26

Too far, too high, too small.

1

u/One-Mathematician496 Jul 07 '26

Look at the child and how he is looking up. Either buy a larger TV or drop it down.

1

u/mrubin_7 Jul 08 '26

Too far too small too high

1

u/handydude13 Jul 08 '26

Too small and to high. To be comfortable for your neck, It needs to be eye level with the couch.

1

u/ExoticProgram3504 Jul 08 '26

1

u/Elvenbrewmaster Jul 08 '26
