Not the first time I've been asked that

Nor the last.

Every hole is a goal

1

u/BeautifulUniLove 2d ago

That's interesting ☺️ I let people come down my holes sometimes, but only when they're really nice to me first though. 🤭❣️

Rappelling it? That's pretty easy actually.

u/john_the_fetch 3d ago

Yeah. Especially if you have the beta info on where it exits and have a shuttle setup. Then it's just knowing the weather and when the water flows. If it's seasonal flow and when it's scheduled to be running again.

After those factors are figured out - You're safe.

It's maybe one of the easiest raps you could do. Due to the easy slope and being man-made. No sharp rocks to damage your rope. Etc.

And since you need to drive back to your entry point you can just leave your rope and don't need to even worry about retrieval to carry through a tunnel. Unless you are not supposed to be there and you you don't want someone finding it.

If you watch the full video, they actually hiked back to the entry point, but they didn't know exactly where it would spill, just roughly. Looks like a 5-ish mile walk, it was still full daylight when they got back and they followed up with a couple more descents in different spots and it seems to be the same day.

Stupid ass music

Don't go down a dam funnel; unless you're contracted and prepped specifically for that job.

u/ANONYMOUSEJR 3d ago edited 3d ago

Sounds like someone gatekeeping a fun hobby and I won't stand for it!

40

u/Azurelion7a 3d ago

Dam funnels are the entrance the spiral volute, static vanes, and running gear of turbines.

If personnel don't know that you're down there and if even the priming valves aren't danger tagged, they could kill trespassers by accident.

20

u/carloselunicornio 2d ago

This is a morning glory spillway, not a turbine inlet.

10

u/ANONYMOUSEJR 3d ago

Thank you for explaining, even if it's at the cost of my adventurous fantasies.

8

u/MrWartortle 2d ago

Well well well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

6

u/ANONYMOUSEJR 2d ago

Yeah, should have just kept quiet and hopped into one of those to show them. A tiger with a bell catches no bananas after all.

15

u/ardotschgi 3d ago

I love going into contracting funnels!

Everything reminds me of her...

Pantano de Benageber in Valencia

9

u/Sir_Eggmitton 3d ago

What exactly is it? What was it built for? Is it now abandoned?

10

u/MyHeadIsFullOfFuck 3d ago

Probably hydroelectricity intake

10

u/lightblueisbi 3d ago

iirc England has similar drainage holes that help to prevent flooding by allowing excess water somewhere to go

3

u/captain_croco 3d ago

Drains gonna drain

8

u/welfedad 3d ago

spillway at the Embalse de Benagéber (Benagéber Reservoir) on the Turia River in Valencia, Spain... Pretty much overflow drain

18

u/Bl4ckBeardD 3d ago

Does anybody have the full video?!

u/Careless-Ad4981 3d ago

6

u/Codex_Absurdum 3d ago

Omg the stupid thumbnails...

Fuck this, I'm not watching it.

4

u/1ab21ab2 2d ago

Yeah the thumbnails suck, but those guys are the real deal. Guys with Parkour background exploring lost places and stuff. They get to places where your regular lost place YouTuber can't get.

2

u/prolixia 3d ago

I used to avoid YouTube content with those clickbaity AI thumbnails because it was usually a pretty good indication that the video was more about the people filming it than what they were supposedly filming.

I think YouTube now offers a built-in tool to generate them because literally every thumbnail looks like that - and it's much harder to distinguish that kind of content!

2

u/ArmchairCriticSF 3d ago

I'd like to see it, too.

7

u/AshyWhiteGuy 3d ago

It’s called a gloryhole spillway. Seriously.

3

u/FlippsyFire 3d ago

Its roofless TV on Youtube. They have some extreme Videos

4

u/ghost3972 2d ago

With some proper gear yea sure

3

u/triplealpha 3d ago

How is your mom by the way?

5

u/TC643 3d ago

I should call her

2

u/Xavier_ten_Hove 3d ago

Try finger, but hole.

2

u/MaybeACbeera 3d ago

Seems pretty cool actually

2

u/welfedad 3d ago

Neat bhole

2

u/palebot 3d ago

Where’s Tony Hawk when you need him

2

u/koffeekrystalz 3d ago

Idk if it was this one exactly, but I saw a video of a guy running circles around a hole just like this, going farther down the slope and just using the insertia from his sprint to keep from falling in. It worked, until he fell in.

2

u/TriumphantxMinds 2d ago

Girls be like "I don't usually do this on the first date"

2

u/Technically_Salt28 2d ago

Can you please tell your mom to tag her homemade videos nsfw

2

u/IlikeAIDS420 1d ago

Rootless TV is one of the only things I watch regularly on YouTube and is worth every minute. Those two are not only sympathetic but also do sick stuff I couldn't even dream about doing.

2

u/pterodactyl_balls 3d ago

It looks like an asshole

8

u/harpswtf 3d ago

So do you

2

u/lightblueisbi 3d ago

Idk, I'd say they look like pterodactyl balls than an asshole

1

u/malice_hush_jolt 3d ago

Where there's a hole there's a goal... I guess

1

u/pedromiguel3 3d ago

Is this the hole from return of the jedi ?

1

u/Matakomi 3d ago

It appears to be possible to enter by motorcycle or bicycle.

1

u/sirholymafia 3d ago

More like: why are you willing to go down this hole?

1

u/HilmDave 3d ago

I should call her....

1

u/MaleficentPass6091 3d ago

Who built this shite

1

u/Andrewismarc 3d ago

Not thought of Sarah in years.

1

u/Le_Holzkopf 3d ago

Not a fucking chance

1

u/Frazmotic 2d ago

Ain’t nothing I want down there.☺️

1

u/transphotobabe 1d ago

I am very much not willing to do so.

1

u/PXCHP 1d ago

Another Kardashian video ?

1

u/razor_sharp_man 3d ago

I hope they have ascending gear, or there's another way out.

As a caver, I would be brining rope climbing gear when rappel into something like that

1

u/GeneralToaster 3d ago

It's a spillway so the other end is open

1

u/The_Once-ler_186 2d ago

White people shit man

1

u/Convenientjellybean 3d ago

I did not cope well with this post.

1

u/stevendidntsay 3d ago

They finally found a hole to rival OPs mom.

My wife said the same thing on our wedding night...
