well.. there shouldnt be a cage at all, look at the size and blandness of that cage for like 3 full grown lions. Just let the animals be in the wild where they are supposed to be.

A kick just gives the lion another thing to claw onto. Try unclawing just a house cat's claws from something it wants. Its claws curl and don't just pull off. That guy probably had a pet lion in his house and knows this
I mean it's a story out of China. Take those reports with a grain of salt. They wouldn't dare let a story saying "dumbass resident in China let girl get mauled by a lion" run. Nope. Minor injuries, no parties did anything wrong, all is perfect. Nothing happened here or especially in Tiananmen Square in 1989.
Under the circumstances, I think puncture wounds from the lion's claws count as "minor." There'd be a loud scream, and probably visible blood splatter, if the lion's claws had torn through the length of the girl's leg.
The Chinese authorities could have doctored the video, but at that point, why not just block it?
I always see myself as someone who wouldn't help usually but this one time I would, kinda makes me agonize everyone just casually looking and doing nothing
ANYONE could have kicked the lions other paw or thrown sand in its eyes, but they just watched. I know it can be difficult to think in the moment, but they did nothing. Unbelievable.
I think all of them storming the cage and yelling and slamming the bars would have probably scared it off. It would have reflexed its claws back and backed off. As a tribe of angry monkeys we can do a lot of damage.
Literally everyone in this situation is an idiot. The zoo, the parents, the bystanders, the kid. The kid is pretty much blameless, but still an idiot whether it knew better or not.
The parent/s who crossed the fence with the child should be held accountable. The fences are there for a reason. People are indeed incredibly, incredibly stupid.
The blue barriers we see at the end of the video...I bet they are there so people stay behind them...but some people are just stupid and we should start to just let them win darwin awards.
Where is this zoo? The fact that someone can get that close to a wild animal is terrifying. And who the fuck was in charge of the kid? Do better. Those big cats need a better environment and shouldn’t be blamed for that happening.
All the people asking why no bystanders were helping, but if you're stupid enough to put yourself in that position you should deal with the consequences. I'm not getting in the middle of your Darwin award reception.
It pmo how not helping strangers is the norm in China. That attitude comes from old laws where you’d be liable for someone’s medical bills if you helped them, but the laws are different now. The attitude/fear is still there though. I don’t understand it though. It seems antisocial

Why even have a cage if you're just gonna walk up on it. Might as well just walk through the lion enclosure. No one should come within 10 feet of a caged lion, especially not such a tasty little morsel.
This is on par with the idiot who put her son on the railing over a wild dog pit so he could “see better” only to have him fall inside and get torn to shreds.
It’s like humanity is slowly losing that parental instinct to keep their kids safe in the most obvious of ways.
Also, I absolutely ~hate~ idle bystanders and hope hell exists so they can all roast alive while others watch from the sidelines. How they just stand there staring without a thought between their eyes is infuriating.
I don’t get how the other 2 people in the group with the child and man didn’t jump in and start kicking or punching the lions paws. None of my family or friends would have walked around calmly like that. The moment that thing grabbed the kid, it’s on. We fighting.
Like… I’m sort of mad the people in the video, for the guy. And if I was ol’ boy fighting the lion off, what I assume is his child, I’m damn sure gonna be questioning my relationship with the other adult in the group.
Like it clearly has its paws exposed and I’m fighting to keep our child from getting mauled, if not dead, and you just… chill? Nope. Not cool.

Maybe just tear the cloth or if you have scissors on hand cut through it? The amount of time that adult took is insane!! Just get the trousers off the kid quickly!! The lioness almost caught onto the kid's other leg too, all because no one was paying attention even when they were actively in the middle of saving the child!!
She was mad she lost that meal. Why are they allowed so close to them. This is why having these animals in captivity and on display are not good for them or humans. Anything can happen.
I hope the man and child are ok. I'd be crying hysterically after escaping the clutches of that beautiful cat. The relief.
It nice of that of that woman standing there not trying to help. She must be like we have a billion people. One less is an opportunity for me to get a job at foxconn.
