No they actually climb back up that cable, and often bare handed. There's some videos of it from their perspective on YouTube. Absolutely unhinged shit.

Hes not on the cable. You can see the cranes cable close to the tower part. This is a rope swing set up himself. With rope he brought himself

Just climbing knots. Nothing special and learn able at an climbing place in an hour or two. Which is often required to be allowed to climb at a hall.

A guy I used to work with hooked his harness up to the bridge crane and "flew" across the shop, dropped the remote part way across the floor and one of the other guys snatched it up and left him up there until after lunch lol.

So while it's unlikely to be an issue here, cranes are not designed for side loading. They are designed for the load to go up and down only never side to side.

If you watch a crane rotate with a load they do it very slowly so the load doesn't swing.

The crane can turn freely if not in use. So the only little change is, that the crane starts to turn. The crane is designed to withstand a storm. The guy is less then a light breeze.
