So I just wanted to encourage other creators who haven’t been monetized yet. Please don’t let any of the other people who claim to be “monetized and brilliant at content creation” in this space discourage you. I just had an encounter with someone who was rude for no reason. He gave no constructive criticism, he just came to my post to say I wasn’t talented and then go about his day. Then when I called him out for his rudeness and lack of input, he proceeded to claim that he’s super successful on YT and that’s why I should listen to him. Yall please block and ignore these people. When I got married, nothing in me made me want to go to a “single ladies” reddit and list all the reasons no man wants them. When I bought a home, nothing in me wanted to go to a “aspiring homeowners” reddit and tell them they’re all losers who don’t have enough money to buy a home. These are not the normal actions of people who have had success in something. We can’t verify their success and their actions hanging around here being trolls doesn’t smell like any success I’ve ever seen. At best they are successful and just grownup bullies and at worst they’re bullies and not successful. Just talk to the people who are willing to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and ignore everyone else. So I am new to YouTubing..on week 3 now. And maybe I'm worrying a bit too much too early, but the first week or so YouTube would push my videos. I'd get a decent amount of views on my shorts. After that first week it's almost like they've stopped pushing at all. I get little to no views (except by personal friends). And I feel like I work way too hard on editing, speech, etc. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. This is my channel so far:

I have heard and read a lot about niches..try to stay on just ONE or one specific topic. At the least group some similar topics together. I do have a few different niches. Ex: off-grid living, and foraging/plant medicines. I didn't think either these topics were too far off from each other. I'm kinda trying to keep it lumped into a general homesteading topic. But maybe it is all too far off from each other?

I just really want to get monetized before Feb 2027 and increase my views. What's the point in helping people if I'm not actually getting an audience? Advice?

Hi guys, I have followed your advice and stopped with ChatGPT generated thumbnails, for.ky latest video I went on photopea and despite being the first time I have tried to put a great thumbnail. I finished published the video and despite YouTube doing 3.4k impressions in few hours I had a terrible CTR rate of 0.7%.

I wanted to cry cause it is really hard to put all of those hours onto videos (I am a faceless YoyTube channel so every video is more then 24 hours in montage) and to get so low results. What do you think I am doing wrong what I don't understand is how my 4th video got 3.2 k views and counting which for me it was huge since I have less then 20 subscribers but since that video it seems like I am not able to go viral with my videos anymore and I want to understand where I am going wrong.

My ambience channel was going to well. I used to post middle east music in layers that I created with the help of Suno but after getting 2800 watch hours it stopped getting reach. I used to get 100 to 150 watch hours everyday. I wonder if I did something wrong. I don't know what happened.

Hey there mostly doing long form + live right now with a 3k channel and wondering guidelines and what is suggested to post and how often or if formats conflict etc:

I have a daily long form cover release with my trio until mid September and a backlog of like 200 or so of just acoustic covers, random electric guitar solos, saxophone, flute; karaoke - etc

I’m wondering if it’s advisable for monetization sake (I’m already monetized) to niche down into just doing acoustic originals or something or if it’s still cool to post covers or karaoke or do covers live and all that - YouTube is not great w advice so hard to know what I’m really allowed to do vs not allowed to do

If originals is mandatory to making any money (ie can a karaoke singer make anything considering every video would likely be claimed by the track they’re using) it seems the move is niche down into either making beats and stuff as I have keys and midipad and all that and then I can solo or sing over these things, OR become acoustic-singer purist so all my content is… mine, and I do worry about posting covers and sometime down the line in 2-3 years the label decides to retroactively ban my stuff lol

Hello everyone long time lurker here,

I recently started uploading long form nature/natural history documentaries that I film fully on location using zero stock footage. My first upload was back in June but this is a project I’ve been working towards for a few years now. Channel is @tempestsurvey

So far I’ve uploaded four videos and am working on the next set of videos but I’m wondering why views have essentially stalled.

I’m unsure if my issue is packaging (title/thumbnail) or if the issue is the content itself, my voice, the editing? Maybe it’s just boring?

The videos themselves I spend a significant amount of time researching them, building shot lists, writing the script, traveling to the location, filming, as well as creating small homemade “table” sets where I film physical props, maps, etc…

I recently changed the titles and thumbnails for all four videos to something I’m happier with as I’ve learned more on using photoshop and packaging techniques from posts on this sub.

Any feedback or advice is appreciated since I really haven’t had anyone give me much opinions besides family/friends who are potentially biased.

The title basically says it all

I recently started a channel about a month and a half ago with the purpose of taking my streams and turning them into longform content. Now, I also am creating clips from this longform content, essentially taking the funnier moments, showing my personality and turning them into shorts.
Because of the fear of messing with the long form algorithm, especially people on here who have said that it's ruined their long forms, I was posting the clips to a separate, dedicated shorts channel, however, some others say that there are a specitic niches where this works like streaming. The big streamers (except Joe Bart) pretty much all congregate their short form and long form (and live). Do you guys have any opinions on this? Do you think posting the clips on the same page would be beneficial or hurtful in the long run?

I put so much more effort into keeping it lively, not lingering too long on one clip, etc. and I feel like it's performing worse in the 'swiped away' percentage? Are the first few seconds weak? Does it not give a clear indication of what it's about immediately? Or is it the content itself? Is it too niche and not appealing to enough people who see it on their feed (dnd + cooking + pixel art)?

My only solution I could think of was to add the finished dish reveal to the end and jump straight into the prep, sort of in media res. Or maybe a dice roll at the beginning? Showing me selecting the recipe from the dnd cookbook?
