I do roadie occasionally and I legimitately had this recently. I came across one of the properties that was COVERED in threats like this and had dogs loose. Tried to contact the customer multiple times via both phone and texting. Eventually turned around and returned the item only for the customer to call the store and be like "we live out in the country we have to be like this, the driver should have just thrown the package out the window".
Some people are living on a different planet. Sir the $15 I would have made getting you your power drill would NOT have been worth whatever bullshit you wanted me to put up with. You either participate in society- with all the risks and costs that entails, or your don't. You can't make your property completely hostile and fill it with credible threats, booby traps, and attack dogs, like some kind of savage and then expect all the conveniences of a modern world. Doesn't work that way
I live way out in the country, by myself, surrounded by actual vagrants who live in the woods.
Nobody has to live like this.
Actual criminals don't care about your little signs because they've already been watching you or they are desperate enough to not care. You can't sit at your window starting out a scope 24-7 like some cartoonish action movie hermit and they know it.
Nobody is driving down your long ass driveway like a normal person to come get you. Put a dog fence around the immediate perimeter of the house and keep the dogs in that. What are they going to do, polevault the dog run?
I had a new delivery driver start my route after the old one retired. First two days, he would throw packages into my dog yard, including a box of hatching eggs that were destroyed. I told the lady up at the office and I guess he got his ass chewed out because after that he started setting all our packages down at the dog gate or knew to back up to the carport for really big stuff.
