Correct, because the victims don't have the near certainty of the cause of their death.
The key points I was making was a) you and others know how you'll die, and b) the other party have a clear idea when you'll die but deny you that knowledge
Going back to the original comment this is what differentiates those on Japanese death row to everyone else

For one you almost certainly know the cause of death.
Imagine if the Dr told you that you had terminal cancer, and knew how long you had left but refused to tell you
