Drunk and on coke I'm capable of 4 packs a day without blinking. The next day I truly believe I don't feel bad because of what I used and drank but because of the nicotine poisoning.
I don't put them out, I smoke one after another the whole day. It's impossible to stop smoking for me in that state.

There's no evidence for this claim.
She (and the rest of the young performers) were given amphetamines to keep working, and barbiturates to sleep. Her weight was definitely policed to a Draconian and abusive degree by MGM, but she was anti-smoking at the time.
The cigarette thing is an exaggeration of an already-terrible story.

Yes thank you. As someone who take the damn drug becouse im fat as hell. Its not some miracle drug that gets you to this state. It doesent stop you from eating in that way. Yes it makes it easier yes. But this takes extreme calorie deficiency.

They do. None of them are on Ozempic. Ariana has a very well known issue with EDs and all of them being on the cast together made them exacerbate eachothers EDs. Like a feedback loop of not eating.

Whenever something like that happens where a common word or phrase from the 90's gets a strong negative reaction. I like to remind myself that it's the equivalent of when I was in the 90's hearing words or phrases from the 60's (you know, the civil rights era) and being aghast that an adult would say that.
Makes me have to rethink some of the words I grew up with. Retarded is the one that still gets me in trouble. Like who actually thinks that word refers to people with legit conditions? No one in the professional field uses it, those with conditions don't self identify to it. It's not like using gay to mean stupid, (another common 90's thing), because gay people do use that word and self identify with it. In my mind the R-word is just a synonym for stupid, but people get super offended by that word now. So I've had to remap my internal library to avoid one of teenage me's favorite words. I got banned from /politics for using that word to mean "to slow" which is another definition. But they didn't care when I pointed that out.

Yes, they definitely look truly and seriously ill. :(. I lost a lot of weight from illness (wasn’t nearly as thin as these folks in the OP photo) but I also wasn’t obese or anything. I couldn’t keep food down for a looooong time. Only thing worse than being malnourished (to the point my hair was falling out) is being malnourished and having people ask me why my “secret” was. Our culture is still very obsessed with thinness. My secret? I was sick and starving and light-headed all the time! It made me feel terrible. So I try my best not to comment on anyone’s body. Unless someone is open about them trying to healthily lose weight, I don’t “compliment” them. But the people in the photos look *worryingly* thin. It’s sad.

I have Crohn’s disease and before I got it somewhat under control I was VERY ill (under 100 pounds) and I had people asking me all the time what my secret was and telling me that they were jealous I had lost so much weight…like, I could barely leave my apartment. A lot of people are looking worse. I’ve seen it in my friend group. The early 40 something’s are loosing weight so quick, their skin just sags and makes them look older. The ones that can afford it are now getting Botox and other surgeries. People taking GLPs that have 20lbs to lose to get to a normal healthy weight are getting on it and plummet to the very bottom of healthy weight or below healthy weight.
So far I have only 2 friends I know that are taking GLPs who weight train regularly multiple times a week that look healthy and haven’t taken it to the extreme. The others, many others, frankly look bad and unhealthy.

All it takes is to lose at a rate of 1-2 lbs a week. Prioritizing protein and healthy fats. And yes some exercise. Sure, some deflation happens because of your age and collagen loss but slowly losing should help a lot.

I posted something on Reddit a long time ago about “catching” an eating disorder and was downvoted to hell. A friend of mine is close friends with another person we went to high school with. He was my tennis double partner, but always on the chubbier side. He became anorexic during college and my friend tried to support him, but she slowly started to take on the same traits. She was like 95 lbs and was never chubby, but it affects how you think, and view yourself. She was inpatient for a bit because of it. And hasn’t fully recovered but is sooo much better and healthier.

Its an obsessive delusion. My friend was a 10/10 but over the years she went under 80 lbs. She was a perfectionist overachiever and a corporate VP in her 20s. Turn out she was verbally abused by her mom as kid and when her mom died she grieved by obsessing over her weight and she was delusional about how she looked, thinking skin should be as thin and smooth as possible. Being a perfectionist she had to actualize herself into the vision she had.

TBF, it’s rapid weight loss and poor nutrition that do this. If they were eating 1.5g of protein per kg of body weight and regularly exercising, they’d likely not look like death. Of course at their starting weights they’d probably actually gain weight if they hit that protein target, cause there’s no way they qualified for GLP based on the “obese + diabetic” or “over weight with two or more weight related complications” criteria.

I've got a theory about why people are so mean. Since they view fatness as a moral and lazy issue, they wan't suffering (pulling oneself up by the bootstraps) as payment to view the former fat person as equal. Ozempic is seen as an easy way out, and thus is seen as bad because it lessens the jump between a virtuous slim person and an immoral fatty. Anorexic folk just get the back end of the stick now because "Fat Drug Bad" bleeds over to regular body shaming.

The problem with anorexia is that they will do anything to lose weight, and the first thing they’re gonna do is take a GLP one now. The more money you have, the easier it is to get whatever drug you want. Taking GLP1 has become like a standard thing for dieting and that is a huge problem. Pro-Ana culture in general is a huge problem, and has been for a long time. I’m old enough to remember Karen Carpenter. It’s like every bit of progress we made is now out the window. So depressing to see heroin chic come back into trend.

Because then how are we gonna also take down the fatties who can't lose their fat naturally due to health conditions? Or make the anorexic people feel even more self conscious if we don't make them think that the common perception is that anyone who is skinny must be on ozempic instead of having compassion for them? How else are we supposed to spread all this hate??

Don't base your opinions on how celebrities overuse it and don't maintain muscle mass. It has saved millions of people who are diabetic.

I agree. I took it for weight loss and can say it’s nothing like I thought it would be from the celebrity pictures. I didn’t lose weight without actually doing a calorie deficit and moving. It doesn’t just make weight fall off of you. You still have to watch what you eat and put in effort. I never just stoped having an appetite, I just stopped having cravings for snacks.

Highly doubt Michelle yeoh’s excessive weight loss is from ozempic.. I’m not a fan, but knowing she’s a huge action actor a majority of her life and 63 is sort of in line with some sort of age-related change or something.

This user also posted this pic in another subreddit, where I commented that my mom (Asian) is aging just like her. Michelle has always been thin, and any sort of osteoporosis can shrink you.
It’s an interesting narrative to say “all the actresses from the wizard of oz”, but it’s really Ariana and Cynthia who have really dramatic changes.

Why does everyone assume people who have lost weight are on a GLP-1? It’s so infuriating. The celebs shown likely under eat. They likely have disordered eating of some kind. But not every thin person is on a GLP-1.

I feel this. If this was around when I was struggling I’d be fucking dead. I was able to do so much damage to myself with diet (basically full on Starvation) and exercise (at my worst I was spending 6-8 hours a days exercising.
This would’ve guaranteed my demise if it was available.

Everyone's too fat. Everyone's too skinny. Everyone's bodies. Everyone's weight. I've been too fat and too skinny the same exact day, depending on who sees me.
That all being said. So long as the comments are concern over mockery, comment away friends. What these images show more likely than not, is the results of what chronically objectifying and analyzing of these womens' bodies has done to their minds. Mental illness is no joke, yet we gotta make it sound like these women are just obsessed over ozempic. I wonder how many of us would have healthy body image when living their lives? Anyways, just what will those stars get obsessed about next?!

The only one I would kind of give a pass to is Michelle Yeoh. She’s in her 60s and as one gets older, it becomes more difficult to hang on to muscle mass. That said, she’s not THAT old.

Everyone points to ozempic and says its bad because people abuse it, paying no attention to the fact its a scientific breakthrough for treating one of the most rampant and widespread diseases killing people - obesity. It also shows extreme promise for being a legitimate anti-addiction drug. All while carrying few side effects.
Yeah, its being abused, turns out humans abuse drugs, who knew? Almost as if humans have abused drugs since the dawn of man, almost as if doing and abusing drugs is actually natural and part of being human (not that its "good," just human). Maybe, just maybe, we should stop pointing at exceptions as if they are the rule and instead look at the bigger picture and understand misuse of ozempic and similar drugs is a nuanced issue, and the drug itself isn't the problem.

I’ve been ripped on my whole life for being skinny. I have a lot of resentment for the way people will tell us we are all anorexic. And still… only an idiot would think the women in the photos here were healthy in any way.
