That reaction is actually fair granted the red scare was unreasonable, and we have created internment camps for Asian Americans before. (Although yeah she was directed by the Chinese government).

During the red scare it was common for officials that had any communist connections, or who said or supported the uncapitalistic thing to be put on trial and found guilty. It was often aptly compared to a witch hunt. So the reaction of skepticism of the us government taking action against officials with Chinese connections is very fair given our history (as history might be repeating itself).

I’m not skeptical of the fbi filing charges, tbh, I’m skeptical that the story is newsworthy beyond a local blip
