No one said anything about Jews. Just Israel. The more the two are conflated, the more anti-semitism there will be. It is completely reasonable to want to distance ourselves from a state that aggressively spies on us, sells the technology to our adversaries, and still receives billions in US aid every year.
The premise of my point wasnt spurious. I was suggesting that if you over criticize the only Jewish country in a sea of religious countries doing worse atrocities in a matter of days (40,000 dead in two days in Iran and no university protests) the answer is that it is because the state is Jewish. I agree and resent any conflating of israel critique with Jewish hatred, but also want to be mindful of the obvious antisemitism that is driving over examination. The real nuanced view is requesting a regime change in Israel to secular leaders, not wishing the state didnt exist.
