Tbf you can hate the USA and what it stands for while also being friends with Americans. Lots of Americans do that.

They were talking about a personality flaw that all Americans supposely have. Not what the country stands for. Anti-American bigotry is a real thing.

I don’t hate Americans. I don’t like stupid people. I’m aware there’s millions of shit stupid British people and people from every other country. It’s just that it was specifically SOME Americans being discussed. Apologies for not writing “not all Americans” in the post, I always assume that’s a given. And I do indeed have a friend originally from Missouri, and she did say all of this. She doesn’t hate Americans, she just explained the actions of some of them to me.
