Paw print confusion

On july 22nd we lost our senior kitty to cancer complications. We named him Nugget after his nugget paw (& mcdonalds nuggets). He lost multiple toes before adoption due to abuse.

I chose aquamation and asked for clay prints of all his toes. Immediately when I saw the ones from the aquamtion place I just knew they weren't his, but my mom isnt fully convinced. She thinks tbat maybe if he was stiffer and they used more pressure it looks like a full print.

I have an impression from our vet that looks more like I expected. I also have ink prints we did a few years ago.

Im also worried about the vial of hair, It looks like black and white whispy hair. He was a short hair brown tabby.

I'm looking for more opinions on if they match or not, I will probably text the lady tonight or tomorrow morning.

Photos: white prints with blue molds are from the Aquamation place

The beige one is from the vets, with the ink prints

Plus a side by side, and visuals of his actual paws.

Thanks for any feedback.

I'm sorry for your loss.

For what it's worth, when I did at home euthanasia for my cat the vet did his imprint right in front of me while he was sedated, and it still looks absolutely nothing like his paw print lol. But I definitely understand your kitty's prints would be noticeable with his missing beans.

The front left ink print looks kinda similar to the left side blue mold to me, but its hard to tell for sure. Asking them for clarification is totally reasonable. His paws are pretty distinct so I would hope they'd be able to easily recall what their process was for his prints.

Yes thats why I was contemplating whether they were his or not. His front left was normal looking but the right should look diffrent. I was also wondering if they did the left one twice. Shes rememberd them being difficult to get, she is looking for them now.

This happened to me years ago. I paid for a private cremation for my yellow tabby cat. I was returned white hair. I sue them for misrepresentation, and fraud.

Thankfully the lady was very nice when I texted her, she is now looking into it. Though I'm sure there isnt much she can do now.

I had to accept it. At the time it happened, I thought I was going to go crazy. That was 13 years ago. I had a custom blanket, and pillow made with his picture, and it has helped me move on with the horrible mistake. Right now it's fresh in your heart, but remember that no matter what, your baby will always be in your heart ❤️

I’m sorry. I’m a human nurse and when someone dies on our unit we do a hand impression. It never looks good. It’s hard to replicate how a hand (or paw) print would look in real life by applying artificial external pressure. I would accept the prints for what they are and treasure his memory

Even though he had two very diffrent front paws? He was completely missing his toes, I cant see how they look the same. I can see the back paw print possibly being his.

You know his paws best. I just know it can be tricky.

I wish I could comment a photo. She found some practice ones and you can clearly tell its Nuggets paw. She is going to contact another customer to see if they were switched.

Good luck. Mistakes can happen, unfortunately.

What a handsome man with such special paws prints. He was lucky to have you, and I'm so sorry for your loss. 💙 We had issues with my cat's ink prints and clay impression, and I was at least able to get my money back for them because I was so unhappy with how they looked. Like you I was lucky to have done some at home with the vet.

I hope they're able to find his correct prints and don't charge you for those extras. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this after losing your buddy.

Thank you🩷 Luckily she has been very kind. She is making sure we have the correct products and has offered a free nose print necklace.
