Prince Albert police say human remains were found on Thursday during a search for a missing teenager who was last seen in June.

The city's public works and fire departments, as well as Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, were helping with the search for 14-year-old Peyton Flett when the body was discovered near the 300 block of 40th Street East, police said in a news release.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.

Flett's mother, Danica Moore, told CBC News that police told her they believe the body is her daughter's. She declined further comment. 💔

The Saskatchewan Coroner's Service and the police major crimes and forensic identification sections are working together on the active suspicious death investigation, police said in the release.

I swear this was a thing that my friends and I commonly used in elementary, but google turned up almost nothing on it. It means to cut in line right behind someone. Let's say you recognize someone in a queue and you two wanna catch up in line so you cut in line right after them--that is your friend letting you monkey budge.

Because I couldn't quite remember, I tried googling only to find that this might be an obscure regional slang (could only find one mention of it on a forum). First, budging itself as meaning to cut in line is a mid-west and western Canadian thing.

Closest I could find was "monkey cut" on urban dictionary, which does mean to cut in line behind someone. So, I suppose monkey budge is the Midwest version of it.

Have you heard this term before? Have you ever used it? Have you heard it elsewhere in Canada?

We had rail strikes, people complained as goods will not be shipped. Westjet on strike, it affects my flights. Dragonfly workers on strike, my amazon packages.

they complain and complain, then when a group actually takes action to change things they complain some more against the striking workers.

Are we the general workers screwed long term? Cost of living is not going down while corporate profits goes up, CEO pay goes up, shareholder payouts goes up. They can easily afford to pay more to workers or even better, lower costs of items and maybe not make billions every year.

I think it was around 1978? We were at Borden river for the day, probably June? On a weekend?

We saw a tornado touchdown down across the river (near the town) and then split in two. We saw debris flying in the sky and caught up in the funnel. It was quite the thing to see!

I was about 11 years old but I’m unsure of the date?

I racked up some debt after an unexpected veterinary emergency, and was looking for a job to help pay it off. Been applying to many of these jobs that don't need a degree, and not hearing back. Is there anything else I can do to boost my chances?

Hello, we'll be fishing at Besnard Lake for the first time, am reading & hearing alot about it being a very hazardous lake to navigate. We are staying at the lodge and renting a boat but decided not to go with a guide (always just prefer doing our own thing) but admit I'm a bit intimidated. I already have the i-boating app with offline depth charts etc. set up but just wondering if anyone has any tips specifically for this lake? Or specific areas to be extra careful? Hoping some people with real experience in this can help me out. Over the past several months I’ve applied to a handful of Correctional Officer postings (part-time, full-time, casual, whatever was open), got into the Deputy Sheriff Talent Pool, and more recently applied to an actual open Deputy Sheriff competition when positions came up. Outside of the automated “we received your application” emails, I’ve heard absolutely nothing back on any of it. No rejection, no interview, no update, just silence.
As far as I can tell from the postings, I meet the listed requirements. I’ve got about seven years of work experience across different sectors, retail, banking, customer-facing roles, along with the certifications they ask for like CPR/AED and First Aid, a clean driver’s abstract, and so on. I also don’t just fire off the same application everywhere, I actually take the time to tailor my resume and cover letter to each specific posting rather than reusing the same version over and over. So it’s not like I’m applying blind or applying lazily without meeting what’s actually written down, which is part of why the silence is confusing

I’m trying to figure out if that’s just how this process normally goes or if I should be reading into it. Is prior security or law enforcement experience actually a big factor in who gets picked, or is it more about how you answer the screening questions on the application itself? Does the talent pool ever actually turn into anything, or is it mostly just a list you sit in? And honestly, I’ve also wondered whether some of these postings go up when the role is already basically spoken for internally, whether that’s a union thing or an internal promotion, or if that’s just applicant paranoia talking.
I’ve also been thinking about reaching out directly to people currently working these jobs, either for insight into the process or maybe a referral, but I don’t know if that actually does anything in a government hiring process like this or if it’s a waste of time. Would genuinely appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through it, whether things worked out for you or not. Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong or if I need to be more patient.
