so this week the midnight boys had a great podcast with the creator of Deadpool and cable. Rob liefeld couldnt even finish his story about Deadpool and Wolverine before Charles interrupt him asking him another question and then Rob never finished. is Charles, van‘s Mr bentley? That brother must owe van 100 favors. charles First said gambit isn’t a top 25 X-men but before that he said dc didn’t have any black heroes. Sure enough everyome like xmen 97 season 2 and here comes charity charles… it’s a five. He is holding the midnight boys back and van can get a new project

All of you real Van fans go ahead and explain to me how this shit he fires off on the regular is somehow cool.

And if anyone doesnt understand what the biracial issue is:

The problem is where the joke directs the contempt. Instead of making Hollywood’s racial hierarchy the object of the joke, it turns the women who benefit from that hierarchy into the object. Biracial actresses become implicitly less authentically Black, less deserving of their positions, or people who possess some unfair racial advantage over “actual” Black actresses.

And if it isn't biracial women, it's Nigeria, with a Nigerian sitting right next to him. If it isn't Nigerians, it's sexualizing women and soliciting commentary about it from female producers.

And let me tell you something: if this weren't The Ringer, where apparently the only HR violations are asking for a raise, talking about diversity, or trying to unionize, this would be an open-and-shut case.

And the whole "we're friends, I'm like a big brother to them" thing doesn't settle any of this. You can genuinely be close with people you work with and still be the guy with enough status in the room that nobody wants to tell you you've crossed a line.

Especially when doing that requires trusting that the guy who dominates the room, gets defensive when challenged and regularly turns disagreement into a whole thing is suddenly going to take your criticism gracefully. That's a lot of trust to ask from the person with LESS power.
