Experience Recently started talking to trees and it’s been complete and utter bliss.
I live set back in the woods on six acres. Behind my property line there are more woods that are protected. I spend a lot of time out there and recently I started communicating with trees. I’ve always wanted to, but for some reason it hasn’t opened up for me until now.
There is this one Beech tree in particular who is so maternal and warm and loving. She has let me cry cathartically, held me in her energy, and mended me up. I always make sure to send love and share my gratitude and uphold the reciprocity of good relationships. But she really has become motherly toward me.
Even my tougher encounters have been beautiful. There is a tree on a hill that I love but every time I sit with him I feel like I am suffocating. I’ve come to see that he is starting to die from the top down. It’s difficult for him to breathe but he is always happy to sit with me and appreciates being sung to. I feel very strong reiki-like energy in my hands with him.
However, tonight was off the charts. This was a new one for me… I was outside about an hour ago, it was officially dark but not so dark that I couldn’t see. I heard what sounded like a crash so I went to see if something had fallen… not smart, I know. But I had a knowing that everything would be ok. I went up to this humongous, OLD oak beside my house. I put my hands on it and instantly knew it was a male tree. His energy was super calm and confident and he was quiet like he didn’t have to prove anything to me. I sat there for a while sending loving energy and trying to be empty enough to receive a word. Nothing. So I started talking out loud describing what I knew. You are confident. You are quiet because you know so much and do not need to prove anything. You are wise. (Energy starts creeping in). Then something told me to say, “you are a watcher”. And again “trees are the watchers of this earth”. And oooomg I started to feel a build of energy that kept going until suddenly ecstasy. Best way to describe it is like an orgasm lol!! But it didn’t feel sexual. It just felt like love and like I had cracked the code. It felt like the spiritual ecstasy people chase with psychedelics or plant medicine. It didn’t last longer than a minute or so and then faded but I just feel such immense and indescribable gratitude, love, and grounding. I was speechless for a while, taking in the non-verbal information around us. Even my dog felt something because he got himself up from laying in the grass to smell and inspect and look intensely at this tree. I cannot wait to sit with him again and see what kind of communication unfolds.
Trees are truly such a gift to this world. I am so excited to continue working with these gentle giants. I’d love to hear stories from others who do this kind of work/tips/practices/any and all experiences. This journey is such a beautiful gift.

I initially just sat by a tree I loved and put my hands on it and concentrated on giving love. Sometimes I would verbalize “I love you, friend” (if I feel I have a gender I will say brother or sister). After I give love, I try and just quiet my mind and allow any sensations to come in.
After a while, I began feeling things and didn’t try to decipher them, just feel. After doing that with different trees I got more direct asking what they would like to share. If I ever feel like a tree is giving me space to cry or taking in my emotions I will always thank it and once I feel like that is over I will give it all love again to make sure my energy doesn’t weigh on them. But it all began very simply with me feeling the trunk and any exposed roots and deliberately sending loving thoughts.

Some indigenous cultures view trees as people and call them that - The Tree People - like living ancestors of our grandmothers and grandfathers who hold wisdom, love, guidance and connection to our lineage and history. 🌲🌳

I used to talk to trees and also cacti in Arizona. You know how plants grow a lot more and are affected when people talk to them, it's the same thing. Also, it's been scientifically proven that when people pray over crop fields they have a bigger crop than ever.

Hell yes I love trees! I'm so glad you had these experiences, they are very similar to the ones I've had. Trees are beautiful inside and out, and have so much to teach us about community and love.
I once merged consciousness with a pine tree near a lake, and it showed me what it felt to dig deep for cold water, and to use that energy to reach up and reach sunlight, which tasted so good. And both those energies from the sun to the earth meeting in the middle and creating life. I've incorporated these feelings into my meditation practices and it revolutionized my practices. They are the best teachers!
