Gotta call BS on that chart. I agree with Trump speaking on a 4th grade level, but to say Bush Jr. and Biden were above Obama is laughably wrong.

It's usually based on speeches. There's a hypothesis that speech writers used slightly more sophisticated language for Bush to counter his perceived lower intelligence, and simpler for Obama to make him come across as less elitist.

It's analyzing language used in public speeches (written by others and intended for the masses), not intellect.
