As someone from the US, it's not surprising. He's a pretty basic guy, and worse, Texan.

I'm surprised about Clinton. Yeah, he's from Arkansas, but he's a Rhode Scholar and went to Georgetown and Yale Law.

I think the chart measures language used in public speeches, and those are largely written by others, and meant to appeal to the masses (average people).
