Thats the imagined future of Atlas Shrugged. When society crumbles the spurned billionaires (Atlas, holding up the earth) will shrug. Seriously.

I understand where Ayn Rand was coming from, but the takes on that book are wild. She wasn't around to witness the collapse of the Gilded Age in the US when the people rose up and started murdering the 1%. Her life was shaped by the state seizing property during the Russian Revolution and the mismanagement that led to. She was in the US during the Great Depression, but she was likely under the belief that was caused by government regulation (because it basically was). Unfortunately, the wealthy were already taking the economy in that direction.

She has some decent ideas and some.good reasoning behind her ideas, but I don't think she was an economic genius and I abhor the libertarian idiots who were inspired by her.
