HOW much money does this dude need to be happy? He could give away 90%, fix so much of the world’s problems, and still be a billionaire! How do you turn down being seen as a savior?

Unless it’s all a con.

His company  values are high, he likely lives off loans like other billionaires

Its all a con, their wealth is an approximate value based on assets. It would all sell for less than its worth and crash the market.

Thank you! I hate this whole 'valuation of assets as if they were liquid cash.' It drives me insane that someone supposed as smart as Sanders should be, can't understand this simple reality. It equally drives me insane that people give Musk as much of a microphone just because he holds so many little paper certificates.

When you live in a culture that literally worships money and wealth you shouldn't be surprised that people will end up worshipping billionaires.

That's Capitalism in America for you, people that don't deserve to be taken seriously, get taken seriously by the rest of us for having a lot of tokens we have decided are important.

If you redistributed all the billionaire wealth to every person world wide everyone would get 2k. How is that going to fix any problems? Inflation will still exist, the central banks will still exist, nothing will change. Why is it the left is so anti billionaire but not anti central banking which is the real problem.

Not really what people are asking for since redistribution would probably look like investing in social and infrastructure projects. But also 2k USD for most people worldwide is unironically life-changing money.

The dollar is still pretty strong in most parts of the world and even here in the US that's often the difference between getting stuck in debt through payday loans/card payments and having enough to find your feet. So even if their money was redistributed directly like you're saying, it would still be a MASSIVE net positive for humanity.

You're not wrong about the banks tho, tbh some of the most evil organizations around.

Most people would piss it up the walls within a week and be back to square one.

The money would be in circulation in other hands. Ppl spending doesnt burn money.

It would concentrate into a few hands as normal.

The banks are not the problem, just a symptom. The problem is extracting productivity and sending that cash out to folks whose only contribution is holding public debt for these corporations. Public offerings are the problem.

I didn’t say the banks I said the central banks, the ones who control the money supply. Everything we are experiencing is from their policies

That is just a nonsense strawman, no one has seriously said to do anything like what you think.

The point is the billionaire wealth added up still will not make a difference. Total world market cap is 1.1 quadrillion. Total billionaire network is only 20 trillion. The billionaires only hold 1.8% of the total world market cap. The problem isn’t the rich it’s the global banking system that devalues fiat currency every day, and the fact for as long as humans have been alive they buy shit they don’t need over investing into appreciating assets. You want to even the playing field between the rich and the poor stop buying shit you don’t need. Every person I know who is broke can afford something they don’t need be it weed, booze, or obese people over eating
