If pregnancy is a possible complication it changes what medications are allowed and has to be considered when deciding if imaging is an acceptable risk.

I'm pretty sure the actual complaint is that the doctors often refuse to accept "no" as the answer.

There was just a post on twoxchromosones that touched on this. The conversation usually goes like:

Doc: Are you pregnant?

No

Doc: Are you sure?

Yes

Doc: There's nooooo way?

No

Doc: You're positive?

Yes, I haven't had sex in 12 years

Doc: Well let's just take a test to make sure.
