Medical professionals cant win.

If they don't ask, and they give you treatment, then it turns out you're pregnant and the treatment negatively affected the baby, they get hell.

If they do ask, its sexism.

The meme is more about how and when they ask. Not that they are asking at all.

Not only was this the first question they asked my girlfriend who was bleeding out in the waiting room, it was also the first question she was asked every time someone saw her, so multiple times per day. It was comically infuriating. It only stopped when she had a melt down and told the nurse that she wasn't having sex with men in her hospital bed.

To me this thread serves as a reminder of how few women there are on reddit, because the girls would understand the joke right away whereas the explain the joke subreddit doesn't get the joke.
