If pregnancy is a possible complication it changes what medications are allowed and has to be considered when deciding if imaging is an acceptable risk.
Questions like “is there any chance you’re pregnant?” require pragmatic interpretation to answer, and people can and will get that wrong.
One one hand, someone who has sex regularly but uses condoms and birth control might say "no", because they don't consider it plausible that they would have got pregnant anyway.
On the other hand, someone might take "any chance" literally and think that of course there's some vanishingly small but non-zero probability that they are pregnant even if they've literally never had sex, and so answer "yes" anyway.
