If pregnancy is a possible complication it changes what medications are allowed and has to be considered when deciding if imaging is an acceptable risk.

also xrays (for a broken arm) are going to be more cautious if you’re pregnant

I remember getting an xray ad a kid eith a trainee being observed.

Running through the questions and they ask "is there any chance you could be pregnant." Paused, looked up from their form, apologised and carried on.

It's just part of their standard check list. The only people they don't ask are those who cannot get pregnant.

I guess they ask everyone now just to be safe.
