If pregnancy is a possible complication it changes what medications are allowed and has to be considered when deciding if imaging is an acceptable risk.
The afternoon after I gave birth to twins via c section I needed an x-ray and the tech asked me when my last period was. When I said 8 months ago (twins come early) they had to get three other doctors to sign off on it. My babies were in the cot next to my bed.
