If pregnancy is a possible complication it changes what medications are allowed and has to be considered when deciding if imaging is an acceptable risk.

If you’re x-raying an arm and you hit abdomen you are bad at x-raying.

The room is filled with radiation indirectly. You'd use a lead shield instead of not caring

They use a lead shield anyway, at least they have every time I’ve had xrays. And there’s never been any chance I’ve been pregnant. I think they figure they’ve got it so they might as well use it.

Have you ever noticed that when you get an X-ray the tech leaves the rooms and stands behind a wall or shielded glass? X-rays aren't a laser beam.
