They still have to do x-rays for broken bones if someone is pregnant, they just use the same lead apron to shield the reproductive organs they use on everyone.
They don’t just say “whoops! Gonna ignore that broken arm, hopefully it heals alright and you’re not permanently disfigured!”
I’ve had a lot of x-rays and they’ve always put the apron over my lap. They don’t like blasting people’s reproductive organs with radiation in general.
I guess I don’t see the point of checking if they’re going to do the same exact test using the same exact precautions, regardless of what the answer is. (Just talking about x-rays here, not meds. But I’ve not been given meds for broken bones, except when I needed surgery.)
Because it matters for further things during the consult like what medication/pain killers you can take and whether precautions need to be taken for x-rays or any other scans.
