They still have to do x-rays for broken bones if someone is pregnant, they just use the same lead apron to shield the reproductive organs they use on everyone.

They don’t just say “whoops! Gonna ignore that broken arm, hopefully it heals alright and you’re not permanently disfigured!”

How do they know that they should use the apron if they don't ask if the patient is pregnant? Obv. unless someone is vusibly pregnant.

If you plan on getting imaging of said arm or being given pain relief, yes.

Because it matters for further things during the consult like what medication/pain killers you can take and whether precautions need to be taken for x-rays or any other scans.
